Fecking Uplay piece of sh!t.

The game downloaded just fine but when I hit the Play button I got stuck on Synchronizing achievements since "Uplay connection down blabla". I force quit the damn thing and now I cannot re-open it.

 

wait for other benches, sometimes it not right here... if that repeats then probably nvidia will respond.
Then again they might use nvidia exclusive features, the godrays and that might do it.

 

I'm having exactly the same issue with this kind of appearing ghost images when using SMAA. And as you said, the only way so far to get rid of this is to use TXAA or MSAA. And I agree, both are not ideal no doubt. I also tried to use the FC3 SLI bits and it's the same, but these bits are obviously much better in terms of scaling.

 

106fps Average with SLi 780GTX?

I dont think so...performance isnt so great, expecially when you drive!

Do u have Win8 or 8.1 mate?

Done up 14 SweetFX settings for Far Cry 4 with eFX version.All credits go to the modders who made the tools.

Now these are just settings with a different look to the game.Are they the best out there,Hell ya they are.J/K.People are so anal sometimes just saying there a different look to the game working with Windows 8.1 for those who are having trouble.
Also will work with other games DX11 Windows 8.1

Installation process is pretty straight forward. Extract/unzip all files to where the game is installed.In the bin folder of the Far Cry 4 folder.


There are 14 presets in the SweetFX\presets folder.Also anyone can change whatever they want for there game.You can use any SweetFX_settings.txt

Choose anyone of the presets 1-14 in the SweetFX\presets folder and copy and replace the file named SweetFX_settings to where the game is installed.

Just wondering, is it people on win 7 getting the stuttering which is by the way 99% better without AA enabled?

Uplay won't load for me now either.

 

Same, i'm CPU bound with 4670k stock .. game uses one thread at 99% , others are like half used.GPU usage around 70% , i get annoying frame spikes even on low and 720p..

 

Win 8.1 and I just restarted the game and bam....flickering everywhere and no matter which setting I'm editing it stays the same. Will try to go back to the original SLI bits. Very annoying so far.

 

win8.1 (no updates except the mouse one), my rig in sig, no issues at all.
ultra, but no aa nor blur and postFX disabled.

 

Run better with Win7 without flickering or ghost image.

This issue happens only with SMAA ingame enable, so if you turn off AA you dont have any problem.

 

this isn't first occasion it's been said win7 is superior, ..
makes you think that's for sure, perhaps i'll go back to win7 on my 850 pro crimbo pressie.
*850 pro /840 pro /corsair force GT, triple combo rig for the holidays then January new card, is the plan.

 

Its just a SLi issue with this crappy new profile, OS had nothing to do with it.

 

i had same issue when i was running with single card, like i just detailed in driver section.
the mild lighting flicker once game world opens but lasts few secs if that.
new profile works for me.

 

My single 280X everything maxed pushing nice 50-60fps. New 14.11.2 drivers works for me. Stuttering is kinda present but playable. My friend with his fairly but not much slower 670GTX is not even playable.

 

Allright, so I've played the prologue and here are my conclusions.

¤ For me the NVIDIA setting makes the game barely playable (50-60fps) and introduces stuttering about anywhere.

¤ Soft Shadows seem somewhat broken. I was wandering the woods while suddenly everything went white as if the sun has magically moved a couple of hours. Then after a few seconds it reverted back.
¤ All forms of AA are bad, MSAA because it makes all foilage and trees look grainy and blurs a lot. TXAA because it blurs the whole scene and looks terrible. Actually I found that playing without AA was the best. I'm lucky enough to have a 1440p monitor but with a 1080p that would be painful to watch.
¤ SMAA as we all know is broken and introduces some "burn-in" effect
¤ HBAO+ is a killer FPS wise
¤ Stutter when you move to different "areas", less when AA is disabled
¤ Bugs with NPCs, seen them jump high up in the air or bounce here and there

But the most annoying thing is that this game totally roasts my cards! First time ever that I see 80/70 degrees on my cards. I tried to find what setting makes the card run so hot but couldn't find it (usually it's something like SSAA but that doesn't exist). Now I can't OC them since they will only throttle down and this game sure needs some OC. The GPU usage is always near 99% which concerns me.

Anybody got some good config tweaks? I was working on some but am getting mixed results. im really wanting to tweak hand fov. the lighting option seems to desaturate the image. i really wanna disable the fov and force better water reflections.
