So far it seems much smoother. Have only played 20 min or so, but FPS drops seem much fewer and far between.

Well I have not had any issues with the game at all, all ultra settings @ 1920X1080. Been smooth sailing, but I have not gotten to download the new patch yet.

347.09 Signed driver is out (when did they stop changing version numbers for beta transition to a signed version?)

So what version is displayed in the bottom left corner of initial menu screen? 1.5.0?

Yeah. Just verified cache and now it finds the update, I know that's a problem for loads of people around the world (my wife had the same problem), shoddy way to release patches IMO.

Are you sure that beta drivers are not signed? "WHQL" means not "signed" but "tested".

Update seems to have helped stuttering, but has returned terrible tearing even with vsync enabled - think it's something to do with Surround

Don't really care if they were signed by Bill Gates or the damn pope or even if it does not have a release signature when its listed as WHQL, I just thought I recall them changing driver revision numbers when advancing from beta. Was just a curiosity thing, clearly too much loud thought lmao

WHQL or Beta, recently with Nvidia's drivers it doesn't mean much.
I've had better luck with Beta drivers at times over official ones.

I just doubt that released drivers (no matter - beta or whql) comes unsigned. MS has nothing to do with signing the drivers bundle. MS just tests the drivers and if bugs are not discovered NVidia even doesn`t have to change the bundle and therefore doesn`t have to re-sign it. Only the changing of bundle content leads to re-signing (which is done by NVidia itself, not MS).

I have always just used the latest, unless something catches fire then I will pick at things one-by-one like I sometimes do to my nostril hairs. But all I was getting at was that they used to get a higher release number when going from beta to final stage. But it has all changed (I guess I just never noticed) everywhere you turn it is just "Game Ready" or "Game Works" bla bla bla :puke2:

I have signed heaps of things and never told M$. I recently signed a document from my bank.
I don't think you quite grasped my original question and you are determined to correct me over "signed vs WHQL" despite that had nothing to do with it. But feel free to continue with such enthusiasm and determination (keep in mind I can just look all this useless crap up on MSDN)

1.06 was possibly pulled back due to a new bug regarding savegames (ex.unable to save game) if on Level 8 in Karma !!!

Anyone got SweetFX on W8.1x64? I had it on W7 but after migrating to 8.1 it became a pain in the ass to get working and gave up (that was a few months back though)
