i wouldn't consider this a major reason for u to be disappointed, every fps that cameout lately in the past 5 years in current gen has goods and bads, but far cry 3 bad points are negligible to me where the good points hide the bad mostly, it's a solid open world fps that keeps u playing for hours and hours, i consider it in top 3 fps games in current gen.

No it's meant to be (if it's real) a tongue in cheek dlc based on 80's action flicks.

Hmm, I loaded up the game today, ran 3072x1728. 30fps on ultra. then switched to PostFX low, 45fps, and A2C off, 55fps. Was amazed.

Now how do you increase the draw distance?
I did try to search around the net, but found no clues, only dead ends. Also I read somewhere that dx9 has higher vegetation draw distance than dx11.

    My take on FC3

I have read a lot on this thread about FC2 fanboys. Right from the start I hated FC2. The only good it did was give me a graphics benchmark. The malaria thing was annoying. It did add realism however they could have at least offered a side quest right from the start to get rid of it. My main complaint is the missions got repetitive within the first few. It was all the same. I've tried the game over and over but can't play it past a half hour.

As for FC3, I do like the story line much better. It is is more believable to me as human trafficking happens a lot. I don't think all the stuff should be listed on the map like the treasure and plant locations. That stuff should be randomly found as it would in real life. Or they could have mapped general areas where certain plant species can be found.

I do like the " interruptions" of the videos and character interactions. They added to the story for me since the story depth would have been greatly affected if they left them out. The best part IMO, is the chatter interaction with the world. The realness of Jason jumping and climbing and the way he stumbles as you try to control him in collapsing building is awesome.

Overall FC3 is a step in the right direction. Yes some of it had a console feel to it that we as pc gamers want less of but hopefully the devs will focus on that in the future.

You can do some .ini tweaks but they don't change anything drastically, still you could check out this mod to see if it is what you were looking for.

Back up your .ini files before making any changes or replacing them! ;)
