    Hiya,
I am very happy with the performance of Far Cry with my new 6800 GT - the only real slowdown appears on the volcano part; when you drive the buggy across the lava field. Any one else have this slowdown or is it something up my end?

    Thanks for the help!

    (settings all maxed - 1024 768 4x aa 16x af)

we are talking decreases in frame rates in different areas, something everyone has, we are not talking stutters, do you still beg to differ?

Im sorry you must have misunderstood me,

I ment I have no noticable slowdowns in Far Cry, something he shouldnt have with that card, so the problem lies with his cpu and mem.

    Is that clear enough?

That Volcano level is immense. It's just a slideshow for everyone because there is so damn much to render.

You have the anti-ali too high for you processor and mem. Slow those down. I also too have no noticeble slowdowns in this game. Especially with Shader 3.0 installed. To say that SLI won't run this game smoothly suggests you've never played it. That's just ridiculous.

when you have fraps in the upper right or left corner you tend to look at the fps changes . Now if im getting 65 fps in area and i watch the frames drop to 40, when i move to another area, there is no visual change in the way the game plays. Now this guy must be noticing sluggish behavior, and if thats the case then yeah "hehaw" is right cpu and memory are the culprit. My point is there is a biff difference between slowdowns in frames and sluggishness. I have no sluggishness, in any area of the game but some areas of map are slower then others.
