I just installed the Far Cry 2 optimized 180.42 drivers....they're clearly worse than the 178.24 for Far Cry 2:

Min fps was now 37fps (there are 4 benches, short, medium, long and a 4th, the 37fps was from the short bench, with 178.24 I got just over 40fps), the fly-by is pretty jerky/stuttering, the long bench crashed the both times I tried running it. Most important: the game also crashed, simply terrminated ...

Reverting to 178.24 WHQL, FC2 was the only thing tested also.

    /// EDIT

OK, I gave the bench a third chance, and this time it finished:

    180.42 drivers
    Average Framerate: 61,90
    Max. Framerate: 109,74
    Min. Framerate: 37,99

    EDIT //..hmmm...FC2 can't calc the min fps..., it's below 37fps ! :biggun:

    Loop 1
    Average Framerate: 63,72
    Max. Framerate: 138,80 (Frame:0, 0,01s)

Dropping Shadows to Very High and 2xAA gives much better frame rates, this will be my max settings while playing:

you see what I mean with average min fps being calculated wrong...your's even HIGHER than any in the loops...

Exactly! Very strange. May be upcoming patch fix it in future.
BTW why result of benchmark from Lenix higher than my? CPU?

    PS Sorry for my English.

I'm having some weird results with the benchmark tool. The Loop 1 gives pretty good FPS, but after that, on the second and third loop fps goes low. Other people seem to get pretty much the same FPS on all the loops. What could be the problem here? I'm seeing FPS drops in-game as well.

    Loop1:
    # Average Framerate: 53,25
    # Max. Framerate: 85,88 (Frame:425, 6,45s)
    # Min. Framerate: 36,80 (Frame:1, 0,05s)

    Loop2:
    # Average Framerate: 33,65
    # Max. Framerate: 54,84 (Frame:251, 6,61s)
    # Min. Framerate: 22,20 (Frame:498, 14,28s)

    Loop3:
    # Average Framerate: 30,76
    # Max. Framerate: 53,04 (Frame:245, 6,67s)
    # Min. Framerate: 20,24 (Frame:470, 14,28s

Running DX10, 1680x1050 2x AA, Everything maxed (Very High/Ultra High).
    Spec: Q9450 @ 3Ghz, XFX 9800 GX2 Black Edition, 4GB, Vista 64bit,
    with 180.42 Drivers.

Got same problem in DX9, but the overall fps is about 10 higher.

Any idea what's wrong? I get low fps in-game as well if I go to windowed mode and then back to fullscreen.

    Edit:
Tried single core mode, the problem was still there:

    Loop1: Average Framerate: 42,03
    Loop2: Average Framerate: 36,37
    Loop3: Average Framerate: 29,74

You are getting some fast FPS there I know around 5 people with a 4870x2 and aren't getting no where near the FPS you are getting.

Even benches posted on the internet don't anyone notice that Guru's FC 2 test don't come close :3eyes:

Can you post results with 180.43 driver?

What clocks are you using on GTX?

I try to avoid beta drivers.
Clocks are 700/2400 30/50 over, stock is 680/2350 on the BFG h20c card, I've had it up to 780 on the core.

Not so bad for spending hundreds of dollars less and not being tweaked yet.
