Well, NowGamer has an interview in which Trent Oster suggested that the negative fan reaction to Mass Effect 3 and Star Wars: The Old Republic were things that pushed Ray and Greg into leaving the gam...

Were the negative fan reactions representative of the majority? If not then they should have just ignored them and plowed on. The reviews were good, sales were good, so wtf are they on about?

Blaming players for having to leave ?
Should have done better ending and stay with the company ;p /joke

ME3 was a nice game, definitely worth playing. I'm pretty sure that this decision did not come form them, someone higher "suggested" that option to them.

They became corporate sellouts making games to please a board instead of gamers. Their games have long lost their identities, and their company is now just another soldier on EAs chess board. They are just yet another expendable pawn and whith what they've done with them selves thats what they deserve. EA has Biowares IPs and they will milk them dry and they will make more than just their money back.

6 six years old can make better excuses than this...

There were a lot of backlash from fans because of ME3 ending but more than 90% loved the game and it sold like crazy, so this excuse is bull****.

And this is from someone that thinks that Bioware´s games are simply over rated....

Yep the ending was complete **** but the game itself was good. If anyone should leave it's only the guy who wrote the ending.

It's kind of like LOTR's long ending (which is the right way to do it). You simply don't end a great franchise with such a crap ending.

You can't be good for everyone. People are too different. They should look at pop singers...They get more dirt than developers will ever get.

Mass Effect 3 negativity was their own fault, because they decided to crush and kill main hero with no chance to win. Basically, player, who spent more than 150 hours to complete the game and bind with his character, was f***d by the enemy machine and left dead in the pile of rubble at the end. Main hero became bitch of the enemy at the end of ME3. When fans protested such ending and demanded more ending choices then Bioware added 4th option which was even more destructive and could be summarized as "You don't like our ending? Then f**k you!". There is no surprise that sooner or later fans are going to abandon you if you take fans money, but treat them like s**t, ignore them and pretend that you know better what they want.

Either gameplayers are becoming overly spoiled by games and the demands are just plain too high to be able to match with a new game, or the whole game-industry has become all about the shareholders interests instead of BOTH the player's desire AND the spirit of game-developers.

Just think about it, how can a Star Wars RPG fail so misserably, while so many people on this planet would LOVE to have their very own "living" SW-character?

And it is also quite alarming that the 2 letters E and A show up so regularly with games that fail or do not meet fan expectations completely.

Heralded game studios disapear like Westwood, and the result is C&C4, and that is just one example.

ID Software had a big failure with RAGE, which in their idea would be the follow up branch after DOOM and Quake, but they missed the mark.

Diablo III had fans selling their kidneys so to say to get it, and it was disappointment all round, with bugs and such.

But not only is it due to bugs and such, also game story wise things seem to take a nosedive. I recently got SW:TFU II and when it so abruptly ended I sat there litterally baffled exclaiming "That's it???"

Release date ""when it is done" is totally not sellable to share-holders and investers, who want to get a next hit like PacMan or Donkey Kong every quarterly year.

Well just reading this small subset of comments on a website not even related to the game on a news article most people didn't even read...

Yeah I could see why they would want to quit over this, sure.

Just so we're clear. These guys created, helped create, whatever, some of the best games the video game industry has ever known. They have crafted amazing stories and made people enjoy life for years. Many of the games you play today are based in part of their work (as well as their colleagues, in fairness)

And this is how you guys behave. It's sickening. The devouring of talent. Take what they offer, spit it out, then devour the creators.

This game isn't FUN ENOUGH FOR ME. You're trying to entertain me and FAILING AT IT. This ENDING ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH. I WANT A BETTER ONE.

Corporate shrills, sure, sure. Whatever. For my part, I was glad to have them while they wanted to do it.

Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect, Neverwinter Nights, Jade Empire. Thanks guys, even if you'll never read it.

SWTOR is losing subscriptions..... The game didn't "take-off" like EA and Bioware expected. They claimed it to be a "wow killer" and it failed miserably. The game essentially failed because of it's story.... The only way to do a successful star wars MMO-RPG....is to start at the beginning of the story...

Off-Topic: Diablo3 lacks the "feel" that a lot of people expected of a sequel to the series....and Jay Wilson's team was rather slow in addressing player concerns. It's my opinion that Jay Wilson has no clear "vision" and needs to go.

its not like they committed suicide. If they can't handle criticism and chose to stop making tons of money that's their problem.
    get over it.

He had absolutely no business being the director, and everyone is still wonder how the hell he got that position. The root problem with D3 is that they had the audacity to tell you how to play and if you tried doing it any other way they would patch it to force you into that one play style (as if it wasn't limiting enough as it was). Each patch actually ended up enraging the old fans (rather than new/casual ones) more and more.

Eventually long after many had quit they admit they screwed up (only on a few points), such as putting in enrage timers (dumbest and possibly most assholic mechanic I've ever seen in a game)... but they didn't remove them entirely, they decided to keep them for bosses which continues to keep certain areas broken and nothing more than gear checks.

I started playing it with 7 or 8 friends and all of us unanimously decided it's an absolute joke, they ignored all the core features of D2 that made us like that game and put in a bunch of crap that serves no purpose but to annoy us. All of us sold our items for real money and quit the game. One of us made almost $500 from the items he got in that short time, but I only managed to get like $35 back.

D3 was the biggest troll job of the decade. We're playing Lorchlight 2 now, we bought it in packs of 4 so it cost us just $15 each. We're all happy with it.

As for these guys retiring, I call BS. They were probably blackmailed or paid off to leave.

    Did you read the books?

The ending in the movie cuts out most of the ending in the books, in the book Frodo and the rest go back to the Shire where it has been taken over by Gríma Wormtongue and Saruman and turned into an oppressive industrial nightmare. He then leads a rebbellion against Saruman and succeeds; when finally confronting Saruman, Saruman insults Grima too much and drives him over the edge, Grima stabs Saruman in the back and then is killed by Hobbit archers after trying to escape.

Only after that does Frodo realize that he can't readjust to normal life (PTSD) and takes the Elves offer to leave with them.

It's absolutely disgusting. And it's not just happening to them, it's happening to everyone that dares to make a mistake.
There is a growing number of people on the internet that is just filled with poison and the rest walks along with them.

It's okay to have constructive critizism, but to talk people into the ground like this is just sickening.
Grow the **** up, people. Make something of your lives instead of ruining other's.
