Hi guys. I installed the game and decided to install some mods. I started with "NMCs_Texture_Pack_For_New_Vegas" . I followed instractions 1) Put all the downloaded .rar files in your Fallout:New Vegas 'root'* directory. *Root: 64 bit: "C":\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\NewVegas 2) Unpack the FIRST ONLY .RAR file. The other .RAR files will automatically unpacked if they are present in the same folder, so DON'T extract those seperately. But when I sart unzip I got this message and extraction stops. Error: CRC mismatch in data\Textures\architecture\goodsprings\nv_goodhome02_d.dds" in the archive "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\NMCs_Texture_pack_for_New_Vegas_LARGE-43135-1-0.part1.rar" What should I do? Thanksn advance.
Are you using mod manager? If so it doesn't work for this. You have to download separately. There are 4 files for"large". Use these links: (And then follow instructions from your 1st post) NMC LARGE link 1, http://s1.nexusmods.com/dn.php?file...5-1-0.part1.rar&domain=newvegasnexus.com&dl=1 NMC LARGE link 2, http://s1.nexusmods.com/dn.php?file...5-1-0.part2.rar&domain=newvegasnexus.com&dl=1 NMC LARGE link 3, http://s1.nexusmods.com/dn.php?file...5-1-0.part3.rar&domain=newvegasnexus.com&dl=1 NMC LARGE link 4, http://s1.nexusmods.com/dn.php?file...5-1-0.part4.rar&domain=newvegasnexus.com&dl=1 Edit: And then don't forget to grab the patch.
also you should go to Fallout new vegas Nexus and download there Mod Manager. http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/ http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/modmanager/
Thank you for your reply. That is what I did. I downloaded them separately from nexusmods.com. I did not use MOD manager for them. I copied them in root new vegas directory and tried to uzip. And got that message. I also tried to use winrar an got message that the same file is corrupted. Maybe I will try and download them from your links one more time. Also if you do not mind please provide me with the link to the patch. I am not sure which patch you meant. I thought when I buy from STEAM all patches updated automatically.
Try my links. I found them deep in the comments section for the mod. Each size (large, medium, small) has a patch for the mod. Scroll down downloads tab and you'll see it. I also recommend this. http://www.fileplanet.com/218300/210000/fileinfo/Fallout:-New-Vegas---Ultra-Realistic-World-Lighting-Mod Grab it before it disappears. Links for medium (Which I'm using) (might start a new game and go "large".) http://fs2.nexusmods.com/dn.php?fil...5-1-0.part1.rar&domain=newvegasnexus.com&dl=1 http://fs2.nexusmods.com/dn.php?fil...5-1-0.part2.rar&domain=newvegasnexus.com&dl=1 http://fs2.nexusmods.com/dn.php?fil...5-1-0.part3.rar&domain=newvegasnexus.com&dl=1
Out of curiosity, are any of you guys having trouble with the LARGE texture replacement? I went with medium after seeing that the requirements for the large were a overclocked sandy bridge and a RAID/SS hard drive setup. That's insanity. I know medium works just fine though, but.... i wan moar.
I wanted to add something to the list here. Theres a recent mod that shrinks the mega texture sizes, which gives your pc alittle room to breathe when using the large texture mods. The best part is you can use the program on any beth game that uses mods. Thanks to it I can finally play Oblivion without it crashes due to hitting my texture memory ceiling. (Yeah i've waited this long to play Oblivion just so I can run it with mods how I want it) I've been playing Fnv since release on the same character and still not finished it. 2+years thus far due to mods. I'm @ work so can't link it but search the recent (as in last month or 2) mods uploaded and you should find the program. Edit- Also I'm running well over 300 mods thou most are combined due to the mod limit of the game.
I'm not as crazy, but I do have FO3 and New Vegas playable in the same game (NV people can go to 3, 3 can go to NV) and texture packs/mods for both. Ends up being about 50 gigs all together.
@crushilista- I'm using NMC's texture pak large. No problems, however it uses a crapload of vram and system memory. @Mr_Alexander- I extracted the whole package on a spare drive then copied the 'Data" folder to my FNV root directory.....
