    Some people seem to have missed my post in the fallout 4 performance thread. I noticed that i'm only repeating myself, so i just going to post my fix in a new thread. This way, it is easier to find.

    How to apply the brightness fix
    I found a way to fix the brightness issue of AFR friendly mode. I fixed this with some console commands.

    -> Download this .txt file (contains the commands): http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=97466288543657520609
    -> Put the file in the fallout4.exe folder
    -> Start the game
    -> open the console
    -> typ "bat 1" AFTER you loaded a savegame for the first time. This is very important, because if you do it before, your screen gets black once your savegame is loaded (restart is the only fix). Once you loaded a savegame for the first time, it doesn't matter if you load another savegame. You can even go back to the main menu and load a savegame from there.

    Once you close the game, all values will switch back to 'normal'. This means that you need to reapply the console commands everytime you start the game.

    Tweaking the values inside the 1.txt
    If you want you can tweak the console commands in the 1.txt file yourself. There are 9 values in the 1.txt file. Some values don't seem to do anything. They have no impact on the games visuals (or maybe they have in situations i haven't encountered yet).

    Value 1 doesn't seem to do anything. Setting this value to high will result in a black screen. Restart of the game is required.

    Value 2 and 3 also don't seem to do anything. Setting value 3 to 0 will result in a white screen.

    Value 4 did had an effect on a light bulb. Not sure what it is.

    Value 5 is light reflection strength. Setting it higher than 0 will make the reflection to strong.

    Value 6 seems to be HDR (one of the reasons for the brightness).

    Changing value 7 didn't do anything for the visuals.

    Value 8 seems to be bloom (one of the reasons for the brightness).

    Value 9 also has a huge impact on the visuals. It seems to change the brightness of the sky. Setting this to low will make trees white. I don't know what value fallout 4 is using, but i set it to 2.

    Even if you don't use CrossFire. You can use the console commands to change it. I made the 1.txt in AFR Friendly mode. So using it for single GPU's could negatively impact the visuals.

    Problems that you may encounter with AFR friendly mode enabled:

    First of all DO NOT use TAA. It doesn't work and it will only give you weird artifacts and an ugly image. FXAA is working fine.

    Ambient Occlusion isn't working as intended. I still leave it on, because the game looks much better with it enabled. However, AO will sometimes be very pixelated and this is something you will surely see.

    Sometimes things in the distance might be super blurry. Only way to fix this is a restart. Don't worry, it won't happen while you play. You will notice it immediately after you loaded the first savegame (if you are outside).

    Your face might be pitch black. Only way to fix this is with a console command:
    -> Save the game
    -> Open the console
    -> Type sexchange
    -> Load the last savegame.

    This should fix the issue. Instead of a pitch black face, you will have a flickering face (awesome, i know).

    Do not save the game right after you used the console command. This might corrupt your savegame. Always load the last savegame first, before you try to save the game again and everything should be fine.

    You could also just wear a mask to cover your face. This will also do the trick. :p

    The brightness fix still isn't enough for the institute. So everytime you enter the institute you need to use another file. You can download it here: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=51655347135954380792

    Just like the 1.txt, you also need to put this file in the fallout4.exe folder. All i did was changing one value, but it is necessary for the institute. To activate it type "bat 2" in the console. After you leave the institute, make sure you activate the other file again by typing "bat 1" in the console.

    The images of the perks in the perk tree are flickering. There is no fix for this, but nohting else is affected. So you can still use the perk tree. The description boxes are working fine.

    Bodies will sometimes flicker. You just have to deal with it :p

    This is the only way to get good CrossFire scaling. You will get perfect scaling, as long as you don't get bottlenecked by the cpu. I've played more than 24 hours with AFR friendly mode enabled and it's working great. You just have to ignore some of the annoyance. It's far from perfect, but it's better than running the game with just one card. Being able to play this game in 4K is definitely worth the hassle for me.

    EDIT: In case you cannot download the .txt files correctly, you can make them yourself.

    Put this in 1.txt:

    SHP 0 1.5 7 0.85 0 1.8 1 2.5 2

    Put this in 2.txt (use inside the institute only):

    SHP 0 1.5 7 0.85 0 0.5 1 2.5 2

    I called the files 1 and 2, because this is the fastest way to activate them. You can call them anything you like. If you like to call one of the files 'fix', then you have to type bat fix (bat name of the file)

    What's wrong with it? Anyway, you can create the files yourself. I just thought it was easier to just upload them. Anyway, this is what i put in those files:

    1.txt:

    SHP 0 1.5 7 0.85 0 1.8 1 2.5 2

    2.txt (use inside the institute only):

    SHP 0 1.5 7 0.85 0 0.5 1 2.5 2

    I called the files 1 and 2, because this is the fastest way to activate them. You can call them anything you like. If you like to call one of the files 'fix', then you have to type bat fix (bat name of the file)

    If you type 'bat name of the file' in the console, everything that is written in the .txt will be applied in the console. This way you don't have to type those long command lines yourself. I actually had to do that before i created those .txt files. I took me a couple of hours to figure out what the right values were. :p

    Fr4nsson's Light Tweaks ? Same ? OR Meh...yeah...kind off ? =)

    http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2139/?

    EDIT:

    @RexOmnipotentus, you can add any console commands via INI (for autoexec):

    Fallout4.ini
    [General]
    sStartingConsoleCommand="your console command w/o quotes"

    like this:

    sStartingConsoleCommand=cl off

    cl off - goes for DisableFakeLights=true (ENB);

    So, no need to execute the bat command manually every time after game starts. Pro tip =)

    EDIT2:

    Also, for your "AO issue". Try this (maybe it will help):

    fSAORadius=100.0
    fSAOBias=0.5
    fSAOIntensity=5.0

    I'm using these for "not so ugly shimmering" ambient occlusion. It's more subtle this these settings.

    Rex post was from Nov. 18:

    http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=5191628&postcount=341

    The mod page you linked was created on Nov. 22 and the older files there are from Nov. 26.

    So if there is a coincidence the mod guy had the idea after Rex posted it here.

    There are more mods about darker nights and related stuff.

    We are lucky to have more than three thousands mods right now for Fallout so coincidence in ideas (and resources used) is not very strange.

    :)

    @sammarbella, i'm not talking about copyrights, dude :D I'm asking about what these console commands do exactly.

    Like in mod desc:

    This mod aims to fix the out blown lights in Fallout 4 both indoors and outdoors and remove skylights a.k.a FakeLights indoors. It goes very well with Unforbidable's Darker Nights and PipBoyShadows Mod I'm using Darker Nights Level 1 with this mod and it looks great.

    And I saw some quarry screenshots (mod page & Rex's). They looks pretty much about the same. So, that's why I asked.

    I never suggested that you work for BSA!

    :D

    I was only explaining that coincidence could occur in Fallout modding....and who came first.

    Fallout 4 and Skyrim use the same engine. I thought that the brightness in AFR friendly mode might be related to HDR and/or bloom. So i looked for a console command for skyrim that can change those two things and it also worked for Fallout 4.

    You need to apply the console command after you loaded a savegame for the first time. If it is applied before, you will only see the hud after you loaded the game, but everthing else is black. Putting it in the .ini file isn't an option.

    This isn't a normal mod for the lighting in the game. This is a fix for the brightness in AFR friendly mode. AFR friendly mode somehow messes with the lighting. You don't want to see how the institute looks like without this fix. It's just a bright white screen :p

    By all means, if there are any mods that are aimed at fixing the lighting issue in AFR friendly mode, then please share it.

    EDIT: if you think that my screenshot and the screenshot of that mod look the same, then you need to take a closer look. Sure the lighting is ugly even if everything works as intended, but don't you see that the quarry is much much brighter in my screenshot? AFR friendly mode increase the brightness at those spots alot.

    I already gave an indication of what the 9 values seem to change. It seems that some values might only be used for skyrim, but not for fallout 4. However, all 9 values need to be present or else the console won't recognize it.

    @Rex, it would be totally awesome IF these AFR tweaks were stuffed into .esp with conditions to run at game load + custom ones at institute location load. Word. Do you concur? :D

    Luckily, it doesn't take alot of time to open the console and type bat 1 or bat 2, but of course it would be awesome if i don't have to do that all the time :p

    I'd say we need 'Automation Tools for TES5Edit' + 'FO4Edid' for this...

    Here are some comparision shot inside the institute:

    Without console commands:
    [IMG]

    Bat 1:
    [IMG]

    Bat 2:
    [IMG]

    Without console commands:

    Bat 1:
    [IMG]

    Bat 2:
    [IMG]

    As you can see, you really need the 2.txt file for the institute. With the 1.txt file everything is still to bright.

    If you use the 2.txt file outside the institute, everything will just be very grey, because it reduces the brightness of the light to much.
