Awesome, just awesome! By the way, Kimi said that it was one of the easiest race ever that he has won. The car must be really good.
I think he meant it was easy in that he didn't try to fight for positions. He just chilled, trying to keep his tires alive, while everyone ahead of them chewed through their rubber and he eventually came out on top. But, it seems like a car that's good on its tires will be the top dog this season. I'm hoping to see Kimi fighting for the title.
Sure, he said that too but he also said this: "Tämä taitaa olla helpoin niistä 20 voitosta, jotka olen urani aikana saavuttanut." (This was probably the easiest win... blaah). But anyway, I was surprised that he actually had total control and just cruised.
Lotus looked fast tho. Fair play to mechanics, looks like theyve done good job over the winter. McLaren on the other side was shocking! Malaysia next! 3 and half days until P1, stormy weather forecast for sunday!
Yeah, they seem fast, Friday usually don't mean much when it comes to determining pace, but I always read Kimi's comments and this time again he said he's really happy with the car, it goes well in all conditions and he was running heavy fuel. Looks promising. Not even dreaming about Lotus going for the championship though, I'm sure Red Bull and Ferrari will overtake them as the season goes on. Unless Lotus have a game changing piece of gear on their car, like Brawn had a few years ago.
I think Lotus has new DRS system for this race. I saw they posted something about it on Twitter. the only reason they might not get constructors is Grosjean, unless he will be finishing top-6. Well if both drivers do that, they have a good chance
Kimi finished qualifying in seventh, again...... Hoping he repeats what he did in the last race where he was in the same grid position BTW, Happy to see massa outqualifying Alonso 4th time in a row .... Hoping Ferrari gives equal treatement to both their drivers and not give any order or make weird strategy to put Alonso ahead of Massa in the race.
nah, they just don't have the budget to stay with the top teams as the season processes. anyway, Kimi 7th, not bad, if the car is good on tyres again he can finish top 3, no problem. if it rains, you never know. btw, who else hates Johnny Herbert? stating the obvious and agrees with everyone all the time, it's like he doesn't have an opinion. pointless and clueless. and obnoxious.
It turns out Kimi will start in 10th.....He got three place grid penalty for impeding Rosberg.... Damn
don't think that's the problem, Kimi said on Friday the car handled well in all conditions. Kimi apparently had hydraulic issues in qualifying today.
"We had the same problem as last year. Did not have any grip on the tires. Those cars with good downforce were able to drive the slow corners much faster in those conditions." An approximate translation what he said.
downforce doesn't play part in slow corners, even less so in today's conditions where slow corners become super slow. it kicks in at higher speed. if anything, he didn't have grip, maybe he couldn't switch the tyres on in one lap, that Lotus really seems too easy on the tyres. Should be fine in the race though.
depends on the corners of course, aero doesn't really kick in until you travel at certain speed, of course. Tomorrow should be a good race nevertheless.
you mean alonso losing points vs a driver who is nothing but fast @ saturday? :3eyes: Massa already ****ed up alonso strat last race... Also alonso seems to be very carefull when overtaking the other car of his team. Imo alonso 1st vettel 2nd kimi 3rd 2morrow.
