2010 wasn't really RB dominance
Video of Melbourne Grand Prix circuit in January 2013. Interesting to see whats its like not on race weekend.
Kind of glad Q was canceled, so i can watch it tonight at midnight
Good thing that I didn't wake up early.
I got up to watch that!!! I understand there's a lot of lines on the road, but it was really not raining that much. they used inters by the end of q1, they should have just gone out again. anyway, will be pulling an all nighter tonight by the looks of it. Food shopping done, bring it!
I have to say, not too bad start from Bottas. He made no mistakes and beat Maldonado. I'm not too impressed about the other newcomer though, they were all over the place.
Damn ...Have to wake early tomorrow to see remaining qualifying session, then have to attend sunday's Mass and then back to see racing.
No Kobayashi this year so it's Kimi all the way for me this season
Red bull locking out front row....... Hoping for some rain else i gotta feeling it'll be Red Bull whitewash
hmmm. nevertheless, this is a street circuit and usually doesn't show real form. last year McLaren dominated here and then went off boil on proper circuits. red bull are fast though, no doubt. I hope the track temps rise a bit for the race.
If its a red bull whitewash i want to see Webber win his home Grand Prix.
Lotus is fast and they have improved a lot in wet conditions but I think they are still not great in wet. Race is going to be interesting. Mercedes, Lotus, RedBull and Ferrari all seem pretty strong. RedBull is fastest by the looks of it. Maclaren is a massive disappointment, Hamilton made right decision to jump the ship.
Perez wtf was that?!
I want Bottas to do well, coz he is the only new driver whos been picked for his talent and not money!
5 hours to go!!! Buzzing!
Oh boy i think Raikkonen will win.... 8 laps to go
what a man!
EDIT: now that I've calmed down... I didn't really see Kimi's strategy until Alonso pitted for the 2nd time and I thought if Kimi goes in within the next few laps, he'll come out well behind him, then I realized that if he can stretch his 2nd run till around lap 38 he'll be able to 2 stop, even if he started loosing around a second a lap before that 2nd stop. he pitted on lap 35 iirc and it worked nicely. Was a bit worried about Alonso towards the end, the gap was closing but there was back markers involved so the times were rubberbanding.
Loved how Kimi smashed the fastest lap with 2 laps to go. That must have sent a very strong signal to the competition. When others were beginning to struggle towards the end of the race, he pulled one out, I think just to send a signal.
Anyway... the good:
4. the pace of Ferrari and Lotus
5. Massa was good until Ferrari shuffled Alonso ahead of him
6. Force India
1. Red Bull
1. McLaren - they just feel like there's no direction atm. they don't have a top driver, Perez is ok as a number 2 if the number 1 driver was someone like Hamilton, Alonso, Vettel or Kimi but Button I'm sorry he's not in the same league as those.
5. Rookies, Bianchi was ok, rest poor.
The right man won, congratulations to Kimi
Damn shame about Williams.
Yeah not sure about McLaren as it seems like they are going to need a super fast/very reliable car in order compete at the very top this season as they don't have the driver lineup to make up for lack in car performance.
Seems like difficult times ahead for them seeing as they just lost Vodafone as their main sponsor and Hamilton being their main driver..
Yes.....Yes.....Yes...! Well done Kimi
A good race to start the season, now looking forward to Malaysia.
What a great start to a sunday Well done Kimi!
