Geoff Crammond was the king of F1 games.
Im not sure if im gonna get it! Its just GT5 is out soon(hopefully)....
from all the videos I've seen so far it looks like a total arcade racer. F1 is about shaving off hundredths of seconds and about split second decisions and perfection. Having an arcade F1 game is not gonna make me buy it. I'll get GT5 instead.
We don't know what driving aids were in use (well, except this one, but he didn't touch driving controls). What I've seen it's pretty far from GRID but it's not a hard core simulation for sure.
If you look at the video comparison I posted, then it's looking very true-to-life. In Monaco in the wet at least. And that guy didn't look like he was mucking around.
But I've yet to see any advanced setup options and the videos show a lap counter of 3 laps, so I agree, there has to be some more realism in that area. Maybe there is but we haven't seen it yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this one. Just maybe they can make it fully accessible to rookies and also provide some serious stuff for the sim racers. EA did a pretty good job with F1 2002, maybe Codies can pull it off.
I've seen videos where lap counter showed 10+ laps, its' adjustable for sure.
It was ISI actually, the guys behind rFactor.
Cool. But I hope it allows for full 2 hour races.
Ok yeah, but I meant the publisher. EA's not so different to Codemasters, they wouldn't have picked it up if they didn't see some mass market potential. Let's say I'm overly optimistic about this game.
as much as i liked F1, I'm not willing to play for 2 hours for just 1 track. let alone a whole season of 1.5~2 hour races. but factoring in pitstop strategies, tire wear, collisions, etc, I reckon a few laps won't do it justice.
Thats the thing im worried about too, it will either be quite arcade like, and not do F1 justice, or it will be ultra realistic and amazing for some, but for most will get trounced in reviews and sales by a more easily accesible racer like GT5.
Which has got me thinking, as much as like the idea of this, im not sure how i will find the time to do it justice if it is more sim like.
just get it like F1-2002, put 20% race length, or 10%. And like 500% extra waste
for me Trackmania forever(stadium) is best but will try this one too
Really looking forward to this game,I'm a F1 Fan
I am looking forward to it also.
Does everybody have proper wheels and pedals for this game?
F1 2010 won't be a Geoff Crammond GP4 killer that's for sure, it's going to be arcade'ish and lacking the billion car tweaks (that's where the fun really is imo), in other words we'll spend more time racing and sliding around the track than tweaking the cars.
nothing wrong with arcade racing games, hardcore racing sims are not for everyone and you must be in the mood, on the other hand arcade racing sims you can play right away at any time.
I guess we will find out when the game is released.
OPM review, 9/10:
It looks like "jury" is way more efficient in F1 2010 than in real life, decisions come almost instantly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5xxFkBpqic&feature=related
Been waiting so long for this game, finally a decent F1 game!
the game is stuttering and freezing, is that the pc version?
Most likely Xbox 360, it's not final version anyway.
