The FEAR series was built as a single player experience. The single player has always been the main focus, in the first game... Monolith were extremely surprised when people latched onto the MP. They weren't expecting that since the majority of the development went into the single player. FEAR 2 was done the same way, majority of the team and efforts were focused on single player... with the MP coming after. And with FEAR 3, it's the same way. Though I'm glad they're actually trying something new. With Black Ops and Bad Company 2 still being played to hell and back, a new CoD this year and BF3... if FEAR 3 went the standard route with DM, TDM and such... nobody would even care. At least Day1 are trying to build a MP experience that uses the game's horror style and setting. Even if FEAR 3's MP was the tired standard FPS MP modes, people would play it for a while... then move on and go back to CoD and BF:BC2. I'm glad the developer has enough of a backbone to try something new and different.
