Lean back in the chair, move the chair back a bit, and reduce the brightness of your monitor a bit. Also, if you kill the lights when you play, you may want to stop that too.

    In all seriousness

Try to take a break from anything that requires you to focus your eyes on one spot for a couple days. Wear sunglasses outside and generally just give your eyes a break. Try not to worry just see what the doctor says. Are you having headaches too?.
Alot of different things can cause your symtoms. Even stress from say an upcoming test so please try to relax the rest of your body along with your eyes.
    Good luck and take care...

it is bad to watch tv,movies,or play games with no lights on,i do not remember the exact reasons why but it had to do with eyestrain, the eye dr told me this like 10 years ago

I suspect the looking at screens with lights off issue might be caused by the iris in the eyes opening wider due to the darker surroundings thus allowing too much of the bright focused light from the screen in front of you into the eyes. I might be wrong I just felt like taking a wild guess
