At my new company, we are located on the 5th floor of our building, and we have access to the basement as our lab. However, the basement is 6 stories down. We want to get our internet down there, but we cannot run network cables or probably even a repeater since it won't reach down either. Any suggestions to get our network down there?
Fibre will reach if you can justify the cost. Fibre connecting 5th floor to basement either outside of building or inside, fibre patch panel in your 5th floor cab and basement cab, fibre patch lead to a mini GBIC in your switch then the same in the basement, that should get your internet down the basement
