spoken like a true fanboy.
I do agree though that this discussion is pointless.
How so? Did you even read my post or did you have that post at the ready when I posted. The only fanboys I see in here are ones that can't see past there noses and take anything said by AMD as gospel. Like Mantle is open lol.
I see nothing even remotely fanboyish in this post. Some people need to get a grip on reality.
I use Mantel over DX11 when I play games with Mantel inside.
AMD Mantel works very good even with higher end gear.More Mantel games is a good thing for AMD and gaming in general.
Mantel has had a positive effect on Microsoft and Nvidia to try a little harder to make better gaming on DX11 and I believe AMD Mantel should continue in the direction they are going.

Can't tell if I'm on youtube's comment section or IGN's...
Noob question. What is mantle?
A API from AMD (Currently exclusive to AMD GCN GPU's meaning most of the 7000 series newer.) meant as a alternative to DirectX 11 or OpenGL and focuses on trying to lower CPU overhead, result is better performance although it depends on your system, in severely CPU limited scenarios you would see a larger gain whereas otherwise it might only be 5% to 10% faster.
Used in Frostbite by Dice initially but other developers have joined up though it's not used in that many games yet, at least not many released ones.
(And so far the trend has been that Mantle is added after release up to some months later.)
DirectX 12 (And OpenGL 5 for all I know, haven't heard anything about it though.) is also focusing on this area although games using DX12 might not be available until mid to late 2015 at the earliest since the API isn't ready yet and I don't know if it's confirmed if it will be patched into Windows 8.1 and later or if it'll be another feature of Windows 9, looking forward though it however and it should be reasonably backwards compatible with current GPU's too.
DX12 will be backwards compatible with most of its features, the demonstrations with DX12 and 11.2 were demonstrated on DX11 cards.
Just a note on OpenGL, 4.2 has next to no overhead:
What does that mean ? Will those games get mantle or not ?
I know bits and pieces of spanish, so from what I can tell it's basically saying "<games mentioned> are compatible with Mantle and will run noticeably faster."
Yeah its saying they'll soon be compatible with Mantle, ive got some salt though, just in case
mantle=cheap chinese clone of dx 12 api
mantle is the new sham by amd just like their drivers in linux and windows.
Good one troll..
Wrong. Mantle is a cheap Russian clone of DX 13 api
