Hi guys, I'm looking to get an SSD 480GB (finally lol) upon the release of Win10 and had my eye on the OCZ Vector 180 480GB (specifications: http://ocz.com/consumer/vector-180-ssd/specifications). However there might be something better in the same price range so any suggestions and motivations for those suggestions are most welcome!

I just installed a Samsung 850 EVO 512GB SSD into my system, so far working fine.

When ever I'm looking for computer parts (and other stuff),
I'll check here to see what is on sale.

Might also want to check out some reviews.

Thanks guys! I should add that I'm in the Netherlands, so those deals don't apply to me. Also, I should admit I'm not a Samsung EVO fan - should've stated that in the first post.

Mainly because of the few troubles that were reported a while back, although they might not be completely true or what not, they kind of ruined it for me to be honest.

I'm a huge Samsung ssd fan myself. I have two in my system currently: a 128 gb 830 and a newly installed 850 Evo. I've never had any complaints about the 830 and so far after about two weeks of use, the 850 has performed without a hiccup. Got it for a song too at newegg (~175 bucks).

I'd go for the Vertex 460A over the 850 Pro. Toshiba MLC nand with great performance.

Thanks guys! The Kingston HyperX Savage appeals to me a lot.

Have a Kingston V300 and HyperX3k, very crappy, never gonna buy Kingston again when it comes to SSD's.

Savage on the other hand gets decent reviews from what i saw.

No kidding! I was also looking at SanDisk, and maybe Corsair?

While we're at it, enabling ahci before installing is a good idea still?

OCZ Vertex460-A 480 GB of wonderful speed and capacity. Check out the sticky thread at the tp of this subforum for benchmarks from 10 individuals.

Samsung's EVO series is really good too. As for Kingston, they changed the internals from the 100-200 to 300 series and they are worse off compared to the competition now.

Make that 11, Ice went out and bought a 256GB model.

I've been very much enjoying mine, smooth sailing since I got it with excellent speeds. Although I've only had it for a month and a half so far.

I own 3 crucial SSDs for 3 years now. Never had any problems with them.

I have both of them and I don't notice any difference between the two. EXCEPT!
    Double capacity on 460A.

And 10 years is an overkill for warranty - Vertex 460A all the way
