    Hey there!

To get to the point. I am having three issues with my x-58 board and 12gb of this memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227365

1.) I am having issues putting the correct timings (1600 2:12 @ 8,8,8,24). I cannot put these timings at the specified voltage (1.65v) without my PC crashing soon after startup. So I upped the voltage to 1.675v, and this got it to work without crashing (tested in many games for hours)....but EVGA E-LEET is monitoring my DRAM voltage to be 1.72V. Is this bad? I've tried many times for these timings to work at 1.65V, but it always crashes.

2.) I recently upgraded to 12gb (I bought 6gb more on EBAY). Windows detects all 12Gb. The problem is is that my motherboard now makes a weird chirping noise (maybe 2-4 seconds long) everytime I turn my PC on. I look at the number (code) that my mobo displays at startup, and check them using the manual, and they aren't anything out of the ordinary. What the hell is this? I took out the 12gb ram, and it doesn't chirp. I thought the ram my be defective, but windows does register all 12gb and my startup (how fast my computer is actually functional after windows desktop comes up) is now ~20-30 seconds faster.

3.) I bought the extra 6gb RAM to maybe get better performance on BF4, because I was stuck at high settings with medium textures to get 60fps w/1080p w/ my gtx 770. But now, my performance is actually worse lol. WTF?!

I made another thread about my gtx 770 performance:http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?p=4725867#post4725867

What do you guys recommend I do?

Is the new ram the same as your old stuff? Btw OCZ memory is not the greatest, they went bankrupt recently and stopped making ram several years ago.

I also made the wrong choice a few years ago when I got my memory (Also OCZ gold), I've only had problems since.
They worked for 1 year at stock clocks, but after that I've had random ram issues for 2-3 years now, but I never bothered to RMA them (weeks without PC no thanks), and I forgot they had lifetime warranty.

    UNTIL now...
Since they don't make ram anymore, I wanted to know what I'd get if I'd RMA my sticks, you basically get the current market value, I'm getting 40€ from my 4GB set. You might want to do the same, and get proper ram.
Finally I can afford new memory :d

Been a while but you should look in to probably bumping other voltages a little, like qpi and ioh. Also make sure uncore is only 2x ram speed and that you set the ram command rate to 2T

Given that ocz gold is basically budget ram you get what you pay for...saying that ive used ocz ram for many years without problems, your 920 is optimised for DDR3-800/1066 which may be causing timing issues,i`d suggest setting your ram to auto and let the systerm run it at the speed it sets

Nah I ran the same ram on an evga x58ftw without any issues. I'm pretty sure any issues are from loading all slots -voltages and the command rate are going to need adjusting without doubt compared to only 3 sticks
