These prices are out of control. I guess this is what happens with no competition.

if you idiotic fan boys keep allowing nvidia and the industry to get away with slimy tactics that one-sides this industry, we can expect prices to just keep on increasing, as we deter any true competition.

Nvidia is demented if they really want to sell this card for $800.

Unfortunately there will be dumb people that buy it. But honestly I hope it doesn't sell well. For that much money you might as well pay the extra $200 and get the full card. Selling a cut down for more the the 780ti launch price is bogus

nvidia prices have been very constant over the years. I am not surprised one bit at these prices. The only shocker to me was the real low price of the 970. They could of raised that $100 easy to $449 instead of around $330ish depending on model. Look up the price on the 8800 ultra. That is just 1 example.

Wow more than 700 is just madness.
    This is getting too far.
Games are controling peoples mind and not the other way around.
People need to let this Titans and 980 Ti on the shelfs.

Come on mate, nobody is 'dumb' for buying a high end card.

I agree that the price (if it is $800USD) is high but an individual's decision to buy one (or more) is not a fair measure of their intelligence.

Hell, I bought 5 of the original Titans and I'm still using 2 of them in my Flight Sim box.

Pretty good investment over the course of 2 years if you ask me :)

Yeah telling people on here how to spend their own money, is not going to go well in an enthusiast forum.

There are no fanboys here plus who are you to say who can spend their money on what. It is none of your business if some one wants to purchase an Nvidia card they can.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone but the key word in your specific situation is titan. This card is not a titan. It is a gimped titan and only offers marginal performance over the standard 980. As I said before $700 would have been steep but fair, $800 is just a ridiculous price point for this card. And I'm sorry but in my opinion it wouldn't be considered an intelligent purchase. If you can afford $800 you might as well pony up the other $200 and get a titan x and have the full architecture. $700 would have been a fair midground between 980 and titan x. 780ti launched at $699 and was a full architecture card. Now there charging $100 more for a gimped card. I don't find it reasonable. This is only my opinion through so obviously disregard if you don't agree.

What's your definition of marginal performance? All the leaked benchmarks and info show it with 3-5% of a Titan X, which is 40% faster then a 980. So this card is like 35% faster then a 980. Basically you're paying $200 more for 12GB of ram vs 6.

The pricing seams reasonable to me, in regards to the Titan X pricing. I think both cards are overpriced personally, I'd rather just buy a second 980.
