Empire: Total war thread

Sigh, im getting no textures on like half of the units in the game, and while its just a graphical bug, i cant play like this.. Feels like im playing an incomplete beta

If anyone got any ideas on how to fix this, i'd be happy to hear it. I havent had any problems with nearly any other games, certainly not missing textures.
Tried changing texture size ingame, tried turning off shadows etc, tried to update my drivers to the ones released today by nVidia.
Nothing helps

I wouldnt be surprised if its that pesky Steam that somehow corrupted files while downloading/pausing/resuming all the time.. GRR

 

right click the game in steam, click properties, hit local files tab, then click verify integrity of game cache, if there are messed up files it will auto download and replace them. lemme know if it works.

 

dont think sli is working for me evga 295.

in nhancer it says single gpu mode. 30-60fps atm.

looks like i need to fiddle with settings perhaps or wait for a fix.

heard/read 181.22 work.

 

I seem to have fixed it by deleting the game (and the compressed steam files), and redownloading it again while i was asleep

well 181.22 sli seems to work was getting better fps.

although just tried playing as the maratha confederacy and on a siege got some very strange glitching bad graphics going on.

seems like i wont be playing this unless some kind of patch is released. unless its me ofc. will test some other games but never had any bad issues before.

Mitzi76, if the 181.22 drivers don't work correctly perhaps the recently released 182.08 drivers work better?

tactical engagement i ww2 were normally on a larger scale than that of the classical - to american civil war area - but you may wanna check out Theatre of War

 

thanks jonas. sweden are in the game if u havent noticed. they should get a better navy for their viking ancestors no?

anyways am back on the latest drivers game runs ok but i dont think both gpus are working.

tried x16 af and that looks worse than x4. so am at x4 aa and af ultra setting no shadow and fps is 30-60fps.

played a big siege indian versus great britain and was ok. so its playable.

one other thing i dont know if people have noticed. when u speed up the game e.g x2 (which u need to as normal is 2 slow for me most of the time) the sound doesnt work properly. no in-game sound effects.

has potential but i think it has issues..

 

Anyone else have problems with 5.1 sound?

I can't hear gunfire, cannonfire, drums or anything.
Just music and the occasional "chaaarge"

 

just ordered Empire Total War special forces edition, i like the additional content.

Heh, I fixed my sound problem.

Forgot to set sound to 5.1 in creative console launcher after updating to Win7 build 7048.

 

i have been getting them glitches too. So far its alright but not swooped off my feet

 

Amazon is giving me fits. ETW now says "in stock 3/6/09" but I preordered on 2/22 and shipping arrival estimate is still 3/5 so I hope they are still sending mine on time. Early bird gets the worm (or whats the point in preorder?) or I will be one angry simian. GF is gone all weekend and it would be perfect timing if they hold up their end of the deal.

this is a problem i have but i have found it to be a common one. With missing unit textures in the battle scene. Apparently all you need to do is "verify integrity of game cache" under the steam area.

This problem is still persisting. Im not happy. :bang:

 

ok running with latest drivers and usind cod w@w sli mode in nhancer. looks nice and running at around 60fps on average. still could be missing one 1gpu as my temps are around 60c with a highish oc...(usually they are around 70-80 with sli)

still its pretty good fun atm. i can live with half perf..its not choppy which is the main thing. right back to me elephants.

 

r u using 182.08? I just turned sli off and im still getting the same fps on campaign map.

 

i am and yes i am using SLI too.

 

my god getting this today got medieval 2 and 1 too <3 love the series this one seems to be best one so far except for the part that it aint medieval anymore

 

i get the feeling that there are a ton of performance issuse in this game
