Have a look in the usual. C:\User\YOU\AppData C:\ProgramData C:\Program Files It could also be possible as an anti-piracy counter measure, simple install procedure/clean up process or convenience that the Steam ED installer removes your non-steam version for you. Try run CCleaner and clean up the registry.
I think I did it but thanks for your help. Will look in those directories any way. I loaded up the launcher and used uninstall there. Then I went into control panel and add/remove and removed the launcher.
Just tried this out again since upgrading to Windows 10 and it's a total mess performance wise. Stuttering hot mess.
I purchased the £100 Premium Beta key last August (2014) but have now linked my Elite Dangerous account to Steam and acquired a Steam key. I have activated it and am currently downloading it. Question: Does this still give me access to all the DLC and stuff? Do I lose anything by switching from the non-Steam version to the Steam one?
I also purchased premium and have been playing via Steam for months. You lose nothing and it works the exact same way through Steam as it does without. You launch via the launcher and have access to everything as per normal.

I purchased ED the other day when it was in the steam sales and now that i'm done with GTA i started to watch the training videos and soon i will begin the tutorials . I have a Thrustmaster Hotas X fight stick that i got years ago for FSX and this is what i intend to use for now , i have download a custom binds file along with a photo of the blinds. As i've been watching to tutorials videos and looking at the keys, and it seems somewhat complicated to me and maybe quite a large learning curve , is there any tips or tricks you could tell me to help me on my way with this, I've never played any type of space game before so this is all very new to me and would be very greatfull to any help offered. Many Thanks.
Go to the Frontier Forums and check out the Newcomer sub-forum. Lots of tips there for noobies. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/forum.php Try to become proficient with at least the first several Tutorial missions before going online.

The more you have to put into a game the more rewarding it becomes when you kick ass. One of the reasons why i love complex flight sims. If you need any help with ED let me know.
