I bought it for $47.99 from Newegg, but that was one of their weekly specials emails I get... they have had several of the major release titles for the same price somewhere around 3-4 weeks before release.... BF3, MW3,Rage,etc... Normally they are about $60 like most places.

So do you guys think it will be worth purchasing this game straight away or do you think we should wait for the game play experience to be better the first time you sit in front of the game with a patch (not day one)?

I would hate to be disappointed and would rather wait for a better quality experience. You don't get many games like this nowadays.

I don't think there will be many bugs, when it gets released. Fallout 3 and New Vegas release versions(un-patched) didn't give me any problems.

It surely will have a hefty ammount of patches. First, "new" engine, so some patches fixing the code of the game. Second, tons of contents, so some patches fixing quest scripts n such. Plus, patches fixing dialogue scripts, triggers, etc.

New Vegas had a sht ton more scripted things than Fallout 3, and they were patching it until Lonesome Road lol Like 5 or 6 patches it think. Lots of quest fixing there.

Oblivion had two i think. But cuz a LOT of things were dealt with Unofficial Oblivion Patch (and by a lot i say a LOT, just check the changelog, they fixed everything, from quests to object placement).

I just hope that Beth is as dedicated as Obsidian when dealing with quest and script fixes.

I dun think so. Carmack is always the lead of the technical team. He never has anything to do with design, art, gameplay or such. Thats why you dont see him as producer or something like that in the credits, unlike Todd Hodward for example (who might have some influence on every part of TES 5 development). That said, seeing the art of Rage, i didnt knew that ID had such talented artists, previous games from id had pretty dull environment.

I'd be more worrying about playing before mods come out than playing before they patch it. By the time some really nice mods came out for Oblivion - improved inventory, hi rez textures, etc., I was almost done playing.

I am so glad I intentionally not read anything exept the scores given by reviews about this game. I will not know anything about it until I play it myself and see. This is one of those games that you can just trust it will be worth buying/playing and a good chance it will be a masterpiece.

But it wasn't easy and we still have 3 days omg so hard to not read stuff.
