Could also be the Caldera under Yellowstone having a burp. Wouldn't want to be in the USA when that goes bang :)

BTW, i'm not into the mainstream news as you put it. I prefer to make my own conclusions. Elenin isn't going to hit the Earth, and it's far too small to have any impact on the Earth on the magnitude of causing catastrophic Earthquakes world wide.

Some people just like to bloat things out of proportion and common sense. Taint3d is nothing but a fearmonger who believes his own spindle of poop.

I live a few miles from the HAARP Puerto Rico installation ;) and we know and can feel it when its working or as we say here On or Off , and yes theres very strong evidence showing severe weather changing and earthquaques when that thing its humming and turn On. It has been ON for a couple of Days Now. We had a few small earthquaques in Puerto Rico and a Hurricane Category 2 went straight thru Puerto Rico from east to west in the last 72 hours (Hurricane Irene) , Puerto Rico its devastaded by this Hurricane.
Also this Hurricane its heading for the same place the earthquaqe was felt in the USA , whats going on here ???

I've done exhaustive research on HAARP and none of this surprises me. They claim to be stricly a "weather research" facility. Well; it's owned and operated by the military...enough said! None of this compares to what we're in for next year (of course there's still four months left in this year). Any bets?

It'll be interesting to see if this reveals any unknown faults or geological features. It's over an order of magnitude stronger than previous strongest quake in the area.

As for fear-mongering, when the New Madrid goes 50%+ of all grain exports from the USA could stop due to the Mississippi river being unnavigable.. A near instant world wide famine. This is expected to happen btw, not far fetched like Yellowstone. It was supposed to have already happened but we're getting lucky on the statistics right now.

heh no just the volcano itself, but yea if they would :eek:c: lol..or maybe its something totally different, like more active plate movements.

yes i saw a docu once idk 1-2 yrs ago @ NGC about a possible eruption in the near future, ~400 years or so apparently (or is it 50yrs behind its 400yrs cycle idk anymore) .. eheh i wouldn't want be near that thing either xD

What's that Elenin anyway, some meteor that will pass the Earth?

    edit: yep lol

The fault lines along the east coast have been dead/extinct for millions of years. But that doesn't mean you can't get any seismic activity. The crust is always shifting, mending, bending, etc. almost anywhere you go. Earth quakes are uncommon and are very small on the east coast because we aren't near any active fault lines.

Didn't feel one today in Toronto, some did apparently. I only felt the 2010 earthquake tbh which originated from Quebec.

EDIT: As always North American earthquakes reminds me of this :p:

Even so, unlike Japan, there's no major fault lines (there are many fault lines everywhere, there's even one near Toronto, near the Pickering Nuclear Power Plant but they are not major) in the Eastern Seaboard in North America. Eastern North America is rather very old and has little to no seismic activities. Much of the activity occurs between the North American and Pacific Plate. So those concerns are little to none.

Japan is part of the ring of fire which is highly active, that's why they had the possibility of such an event while the Atlantic doesn't have that much seismic activity to warrant such concerns.
