Guys i need a little help on this one.

My Powerplay settings no longer work like they used to. I was idling at 157/300 but now it's at 500/1450. Of course my temps are higher as a result.

It was working fine with 11.6 and when I set up a dual monitor system I noticed my temps were high caused by this problem. I really can't say for sure that the problem didn't already exist but I would think I would have noticed the temp rise with all the checking I do. Can a dual monitor system screw up powerplay as I described? I have no profiles and only use AMD Overdrive. I set my timings to the defaults but all that did was produce a 500/1350 idle. I tried 11.5 and 11.7 to no avail.

I recall this was a problem with earlier drivers and was finally glad when it was fixed. How I got into this mess again is what I am asking.

The clockspeed is supposed to be higher when using dual or more monitors.

I thought that was for multiple GPU's not monitors. If it is for multiple monitors do you have a link that talks about this?

Where are the final release of this months 11.7 drivers anyway, its getting late on, aren't they usually released by now ?

And where are these promised 11.6 CAP3's with Crysis 2 fix in them ?

They've still got 2 weeks left to release them, so plenty of time, and CatCreator said at the beginning of the month that no new CAP was coming for Crysis 2 now.

Its for Multiple Monitors, they had to up the clocks, to stop the screen flickering that everyone was getting, as they were to low to handle more than one screen.

Thanks for the additional info. AMD should make this optional somehow. Some folks might not have the problem or could run at lower speeds without any flicker.

You can always set your custom clocks with ATT (like I do).
And it has it's own advantages (like UC/OC, various profiles etc.).

No it shouldn't be optional and no you can't run at lower clocks without flicker which is why they used those clocks in the first place.
