Has this happened to anyone here? Seems rather amusing that an ad would switch the console on via a voice command.
I thought it only registered verified user voice. Can anyone just walk in and say these commands? Can i just walk past someones widows and yell Xbox off/on and itll work.
I don't own one myself but I assume that if the voice is of the same tone, then it would verify anyones voice.
The only people benefitting from this are parents: "Take out the trash timmy!" "I'm busy!" "X-box; turn off and delete all games saves!" "Whaaaaah!" "Now who's busy?...take out the trash!"
I dont think it would work in that fashion because it is speech recognition. I have heard of trolls having gamer tags of xbox commands such as Xbox turn off so it would get others to try to shut down their xboxes but it didn't work though.
Would never happen with my XBO as it has to be on for to watch TV since my Sky+HD box is connected to the console via the HDMI passthrough.
It doesn't impact my xbone. I thought of exactly this scenario though only yesterday. I even tried turning it up to see if the commands would register. The news says only the "xbox on" or whatever feature works, but since mine is on anyways handling my cable and all, I'm not sure I meet the qualifications to have this trick work.
