I can t help but say that the original game s soundtrack is far far better,it gave the game it s identity, the soundtrack of d1 was just downright amazing
Unsatisfying answer 1: Use BT.1886 gamma curve. But you can't without buying a colorimeter and doing a monitor calibration, so there is the unsatisfying part. Unsatisfying answer 2: Buy an OLED monitor/TV and try HDR. Otherwise, you can only ramp up the game's gamma slider, but that will make brighter parts look (too) pale. Edit: Ok, the game doesn't have an HDR mode. wtf... The dark shades with RT GI + AO are way too dark on my IPS screen with gamma 2.2/2.4. Though with BT.1886 gamma curve, lots of details get visible in dark shades. It's super realistic and frightening how buildings block light at night, making narrow alleys much darker than open places. Never seen this in any game before.
im gonna do another play soon, il invest more time and maybe mods this time around. the bright colors in my first play ( almost on release ) brought it down a bit for me. game was good, just felt it should be more gritty. il give it another go.
So I've mostly waited until now to play the game in co-op and it still is some clunky alpha version with the worst writing and mission scripting I've ever seen. No idea why we should continue to play this over Fortnite. Why do I even pay for stuff when I only get sh*t for my money vs. F2P games...
New patch (1.9.0) brings two big updates to the table: ¤ Added support for DLSS3 ¤ Removed Denuvo Anti-tamper More details here: https://dyinglightgame.com/news/update-1-9-0/ Bloody Anniversary: https://techlandgg.com/events/bloody-anniversary
Don't think so but it seems some people say that nvidia reflex implementation causes performance issues.
My PC: Intel i5-13600KF, 32 GB DDR3600, RTX 4080, Windows 11 Pro 22H2, 531.68 WHQL driver The game will always crash with the following error if I enable Fullscreen in DX12 mode: Faulting application name: DyingLightGame_x64_rwdi.exe, version: 1.10.1.0, time stamp: 0x644178fe Faulting module name: d3d11.dll, version: 10.0.22621.1631, time stamp: 0xb0b8eb02 Exception code: 0xc000041d Fault offset: 0x00000000000a6cd7 Faulting process ID: 0x0x7890 Faulting application start time: 0x0x1D97546941B466D Faulting application path: I:\Steam\steamapps\common\Dying Light 2\ph\work\bin\x64\DyingLightGame_x64_rwdi.exe Faulting module path: C:\windows\SYSTEM32\d3d11.dll Report ID: 85500d88-b435-4674-8716-c6301cf8e78f Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: I have to either delete the out folder in the Documents/Dying Light 2 folder or edit the video.scr file in the out folder using Notepad++ to change the Window(2) (fullscreen) setting to Window(1) (Borderless) and then it runs and plays fine. What puzzles is why d3d11.dll would cause a crash when starting the game in DX12 mode, which I have to use for Raytracing with DLSS3 frame generation... Anyone else having this issue? It runs fine in Borderless at 1440p settings with the High Quality Raytracing option but I am baffled why it will not start up Fullscreen.
Ran a quick test since I had not played this after the latest update. DX12, fullscreen, (4k, almost all settings max, DLSS quality, frame generation on, i9-13900K, Zotac 4090, 32 GB DDR5 6200, Windows 11 all up to date, latest Nvidia driver). No crashes.
I'm just starting another play through. There has been definite sharping of textures in the distance. Makes a big difference.
This game is back on Steam's top seller list. Pretty funny how publishers of this game are capitalizing on the fact that Dead Island 2 isn't on Steam and it seems to be working very well for them
