Will new games support DX12 ever or mostly DX11 still ?
Well the majority of games out now mainly support DX11. However after playing the demo for Shadow of the Tomb Raider I was very impressed. I don't think DX12 will offer much visual improvement, but over time I think it will enhance performance.
Compared to dx11 Shadow of the Tomb Raider indeed runs better if you have 12 threads+ CPU. As for dx12 there is already bunch of games supporting it.
DX12 doesn't exist neither works for real.
Teehee nothing is real.. Who cares about dx12
DX12 = M$ win10 sellout.
My magic 8-ball says "maybe"
Some games force you to use DX12 to get HDR. ie Tomb Raider.
Its not necessary though, there was a bug in Tomb Raider for a while that gave me HDR colours in Windows 7.
All I needed to do was tell my TV to use HDR mode.
Lots of back pocket cash involved it would seem.
bfv dx 12 runs realy well and frame time are not that bad
