Once you see teslation, you ain't going back. Everytime I play crysis now it looks like the rock's and textures are flat or something. Damn you DX11!

Exactly. A game without tessellation looks like a game without AA. Not the same tech, but you know what I mean, right? :p

In dx11 with everything maxed out at 1680x1050. Man this demo beats my card up!

So i guess any dx10 games i am going to have to lay off the aa/af for acceptable fps.

Guys care to explain more on using dx11 and tessellation on vista with 4800 series cards after the update?

    I can select tessellation now.

Btw here's my score with tessellation on after i installed the patch

It still doesn't have tessellation. Patch or no, you can't get the same tessellation with 4870s.

okay but it's still with dx 11. I ran it with dx10 and noticed dx 10 was noticably faster.

Well crysis doesn't look that bad without AA especially if u sit a bit further. Actually it looks quite okay close up too.

    Serious?

Crysis is the best looking game out there and u say this?

Crysis still gives top of the line hardware a tough workout. Now imagine a crysis with tess in it. How much fps are going to be lost?

Tessellation doesn't have anything to do with AA. But I used the comparison to indicate that games often look awful without a great feature. Here is a clip posted a few posts up...

Hardware tessellation with DirectX 11 (Unigine "Heaven" benchmark).

No i7 even at stock is enough for single 5870 3.6 is good enough for 2 still maybe, there will be some small gains at 3.6 vs 2.6.
