seems am on dx10 trying to find dx11 download. have tried searching this forum no joy. when i goto microsoft it says latest is august 2009 but there's no mention of dx11 and it has dx 9 runtime on the screen. so am confused...
Download this script, rename it to "Platform Update for Windows Vista_Beta.cmd", run it then do a Windows Update. It should find the platform update and install it. Restart and check dxdiag for dx11.
FPS: 46.4 Scores: 1170 With my CPU at stock as I'm testing a few things atm and couldn't be bothered to restart the PC to overclock it again That was using DX11 as the renderer, 4x AA, everything else as high as it can go. Tessellation was enabled but I don't know in what capacity it was working as obviously I have a 4xxx card...

As has been said on several occasions, that Tesseltation engine on DX10 capable cards is only a subset of what is required for DX11, and is therefor not compatable with the standard.
Anyone else getting this message? Forbidden You don't have permission to access /guru3d/benchmark/Unigine_Heaven-1.0-[Guru3D.com].msi on this server. Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Got exactly the same FPS and looked exactly the same to me under DX11, so I suppose it doesn't actually run in DX11 mode unless you have a capable card.
I have DX11 listed in my dxdiag, yet I can't run any of the tech demos as it says the required dx11 files are missing (and i've already re-installed the stuff over and over). Guess I'll have to wait for the official dx11 files to be released to run these
Heh, didn't expect the Unigine demo to work but similar to Battleforge it can be started with some sort of DX11 support. (No tesselation of course and fraps doesn't show, doesn't show under OpenGL either so I guess it's OpenGL 3, FPS was about 30 or so with DX10 enabled from what I saw.)
Posted a gallery of DX11 benchmark shots on my site: http://www.quicksavepc.com/gallery/unigine-heaven-dx11-benchmark/
From looking at various threads it seems enabling Dx11 with tessellation halves the frame rate on dx11 hardware. I would be interested to know how an actual game with characters, wide open terrain, ai, physics, in game scripts, etc would run with this level of detail. It would seem to me we have exactly what we had with 1st generation dx10 hardware where the real world performance just wasn't up to task. With that said, its very very pretty and the tessellation on the walls really stands out... cept for the stone walkways (as others have mentioned, looks like it would tear up your feet pretty badly).
Using Catalyst 9.8 hotfix, Windows Vista 32 bit SP2 Directx 10 max settings, vsync on, min FPS 7, stutters Directx 11 max settings, vsync on, tesselation on (but it doesn't show up), min FPS 14, no stutters DX11 run faster then DX10 on my hardware, great work Microsoft to do less depending on CPU DX11. :infinity:
1680x1050 dx11 41.1 fps dx10 68.5 fps dx9 74.6 fps edit as the dx10 benchmark was not full screen dx10 70.7 fps very little hit between dx9 and dx10 with this 5870 card
Using DX11 but of course not seeing the tesselation features 5870 has. Excellent Demo though. By jimpsar at 2009-10-23
