Just installed on a Vista Ultimate x64 and whenever I run the app I get the following ...

Run as admin as stated twenty billion times in the readme and help.
However no errors should have come so I will fix this in next version.

It's auto update, it doesn't freeze, it tries to connect for X time and then continues. I will fix this in a new build that it doesn't freeze.

I've been using the beta build of v2.0 for some time and yesterday while using the program I was prompted to install an update which I did. The file downloaded fine but upon restarting Driver Sweeper it crashes every time for some reason. I'm using Vista x64 and I'm actually using the proper hidden administrator account as my main account as I'm the only person that uses my PC, i.e. I don't have to run anything as the administrator because everything does my default.

I guess I'll have to try the manual install to see if it fixes it as it seems to be the Driver Sweeper beta restarting that causes it to crash because each time I rerun the program I get prompted for the update so it's clearly still the beta version.

 

I tried it here on multiple computers and the update went without any problems. Please inform me if you solved it and how.

Sorry to ask, but a year ago (more or less) you promised to add command line usage, for example, to restore icons and resolution on desktop without open DS. This version has that feature?

No, not yet, I forgot about it once again because I couldn't found my list anymore and didn't found your post anymore. However, now I remember it again and I will add it now on my list with top priority As soon as I implemented it I will send you a private build for the time being.

i prefer drivecleaner because it cleans more than drivesweeper
drivesweeper leaves registry entries behind even when you uninstall in safe mode

 

Then do something about it and email or PM me the entries. I don't know if you have tried 2.0.0 and 2.0.5 as more entries have been added. Test first before commenting please

 

Drivercleaner is a paid for app, whilst driversweeper is provided free. Whilst I had an issue initially with 2.0 I would never use anything else.

As usual it is horses for courses.
