    Got into the factory menu
holding down menu button then pull power cord out the back still holding down menu button then plugged back in. then once monitor was showing picture let go of the menu button then press menu and you will see a little F at the bottom..

    (factory menu) F

then you enter it and change :product Mode from ON to OFF
then exit menu then change resolution and no input not support popups GONE :)

though i need to figure out how to save the setting cause when you turn off the monitor you have to do the steps again lol
but once you get the hang of it it takes less than 30 seconds :D and lasts until you turn the monitor off again lol

Don't turn off the monitor power?
The standby power without displaying is likely 0.05-0.1 watt only, I guess. :)

Good to hear about that, and too bad/good your factory setting don't save, as it can causing damage if changing more than that settings.

For my one, I changed the start out logo, and it saved, I guess it only save for some setting. :)

So this might be something. I frequent NeoGAF, but figured it'd be worthwhile posting it here:
Worth getting excited, or is the typical response we get? Keep in mind, @derFeef didn't actually link him to that thread at all, so that he found it on his own must say something?

Sheesh, one can only hope :D
Stuff gets going in the right direction methinks. Shouldn't be all that hard for them to step on it, even as unsupported feature that just works without the hacky way we are doing it now will be just great.

Yup, as AMD want to playing high resolution, so they might like to playing downsampling too.

as far as downsampling goes i was able to achieve 3720x2160, looks fantastic. HD6950 DVI Philips 24 inch monitor. with latest drivers. I installed drivers, added reg entries with max res up to 3840x2160, then added resolutions with Radeon Resolution manager 3550x2160 and 3720x2160. then in windows i switched to 2720x1530 then 3550x2160 then 3720x2160, it finnaly worked, then launched far cry 3 and selected resolutions in that order in-game. Now i'm playing on 3720x1530. looks stunning

NOOOO... AGAIN! It's broken with the new 14.x drivers. Anyone have it working?

Yep. Broken for me too. I am tired of this "cat and mouse" downsampling issue with each driver update.

Man! I just hope that there's an easy fix. Cause the benefits of this driver are more than making me willing to not go back to an older driver to get it working.

Any of the newer gurus that look at the registry changes are able to see what changed?

Hey guys i had similar problems to get downsampling to work with the new 14.1 beta drivers but somehow i managed to get it to work.

    Code:
    hex:00,00,00,00,00,0a,00,00,a0,05,00,00,3c,\
    00,00,00,03,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,20,08,00,00,00,00,\
    00,00,80,07,00,00,00,00,00,00,30,00,00,00,20,00,00,00,57,04,00,00,00,00,00,\
    00,38,04,00,00,00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,05,00,00,00,e0,22,02,00,00,00,00,00,\
    00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,80,\
    00,00,00

I can only add 1 downsampling resolution but not more atm.
(Modified Monitor inf is still needed ofc)

What resolution is this for? I might try it when I get home.

What would I need to change it to 2720x1530?

Nope. No good for me. I think that maybe you didn't do a clean install of the new drivers? Maybe that's why you have some residual stuff that allows it to work?
