I did use modded driver created using DownsamplingGUI but it didn't work. So does your version. Running out of ideas now.

What exactly is the point of these modded monitor drivers anyway? They've never worked for me in reaching higher resolutions while downsampling.

I've followed Guzz tips and get 2560x1600@60hz using HDMI to DVI adapter on a HP w2558hc screen. HDMI only refuses to work. No screen modded drivers and using 13.11 Beta 9.5 on Win8 64bits.

Also, once reached a working resolution (I didn't try to go upper, my 6950 is not that powerfull :p ) you can add any resolution under 1600p you want with Radeon Custom Res Manager.

For me, after cleaning my computer with DDU and install a new driver, I lost all the custom resolution. Now it is quite easy to set them up again, but would be easier if AMD just fix the god damn thing.

For me it's not working. When I do it manually, the games can't render the downsampled resolution. I can change it in Windows, but it gains a 4:3 aspect ratio, maybe I'm doing something wrong.

When I use the hex code from Guzzling, adapting it for my monitor (which has a resolution of 1440x900), the display doesn't show any image, just a message (out of range - 73kHz/60hhz).

Does anyone have a clue how to get it working on my monitor? As I said, it's resolution is 1440x900 (it is quite old), it worked fine with the GUI in the past, but I can't make it work with this new method,

I also want to try this, but to be honest,.. I lost track which utily to use.
I want to stay on the newer drivers, (CF+R290) so Iit looks I have to try the utility provided by CeeJay? I'am 13.12 win 8.1.

I've tried to downsample with the CRU that CeeJay posted, but when I play a game at 2560x1440 or 1920x1200 instead of the usual 1920x1080, my screen goes black and I get this little blue window (by the monitor, not the computer) giving me a H.frequency of about 88.9Khz and a V.frequency of about 60Hz. Does this mean my monitor simply can't handle anything over 1080p or do I need to adjust a setting somewhere? I'm using a Iiyama ProLite E2407HDSD.

When checking my display settings on my monitor it shows a H.frequency of around 67.5Khz, a V.frequency of around 60Hz and a pizel clock of around 148.5Mhz at 1080p.

Also, I have an LED monitor instead of LCD. Might that be the problem?

EDIT: I just tried to use the interlacing option with the CRU to reduce H. frequency to 47,5Khz, which is well withing the limit of my 31-80Khz range of my monitor, but I still get the blue window with the frequencies, indicating my monitor doesn't support it. Why is this not working?

I tried with the new drivers with CRU after patching with atikmdag-patcher-1.2.3

After adding 2720x1530 and a reboot, when switching to that resolution I get a message stating...
Any idea's on a workaround with the new beta's?

works pretty well :D and quality is super fantastic apart from one small issue...
there is a message on my screen right in the middle saying input not support LOL
everything works just wish i could get rid of that message, cause the picture quality is amazing......

there must be a hidden service menu or hidden factory menu on these monitors to disable OSD popups :/

also the good thing about these monitors is i can force these resolutions with no issue at all and no osd popup boxes :D they just work

2560x1080 native resolution @*72hz (*judder free 24hz bluray playback) or 75hz or 76hz
2560x1440 works @60hz (Aspect ratio is out looks stretched :( )
2560x1600 works @60hz (Aspect ratio is out looks more stretched :( )
3000x1440 works (almost correct aspect ratio (annoying input not support on screen even though there is a picture and no distortion or issues)
3440x1440 (functional apart from the annoying osd popup in the middle of the screen @input not support (the picture is there and looks so crystal also correct aspect ratio 21:9 no issues with movies no black bars and quality looks superb)
    ----------------------------------------------------

to keep it within aspect ratio i have to use 2560x1080p @75hz
also 72hz works and this will completely remove 24hz bluray juddering playback :)
@ the next step up to correct aspect ratio of 21:9 i need a resolution of 3440x1440 but again issue with the *Input not support popup box that i cant get rid of no matter what i try there must be a way to remove this popup so annoying cause apart from that the quality is fantastico....... mabe someone special in here will know how to fix it ?????? with the pixel settings ect or pixel clock or something or a service menu to disable them
AOC 29" they are pretty good IPS panels to get native @76hz is amazing to be honest not a lot of IPS pannels will do that.

if only there was a way to fix this limitation :( @ 3440x1440 i also have sooooooooo much desktop area space to play with its great to look at and use apart from this stupid box :(

please help anyone im desperate lol i would actually pay someone £5 to help me fix this.

    Nice!

Would you have any idea on how to resolve my issue?

Hi mate i should have stated im not using DVI. wich has pixel bandwidth limitations hence why you need your drivers patched.
I am using Mini Display port Out to Display Port in - graphics to monitor.
there for i don t have any limitations.....

im still waiting for a fix for my own issue lol

Ahh, I have no alternative inputs on my monitor other than HDMI, I tend not to use HDMI though since it introduces a black border around the image even at the native resolution.

I'm hoping one of the other guru's here may have a solution with using DVI.

Would be nice to say HOW you fixed your issue. Maybe someone is searching for an answer and can't find anything except "i fixed it"

    Got into the factory menu
holding down menu button then pull power cord out the back still holding down menu button then plugged back in. then once monitor was showing picture let go of the menu button then press menu and you will see a little F at the bottom..

    (factory menu) F

then you enter it and change :product Mode from ON to OFF
then exit menu then change resolution and no input not support popups GONE :)

though i need to figure out how to save the setting cause when you turn off the monitor you have to do the steps again lol
but once you get the hang of it it takes less than 30 seconds :D and lasts until you turn the monitor off again lol
