It really reminds me of Mirrors Edge. Dunno why but not a fan of that pic's art direction.

52-56 fps average @1080p on 64 bit exe (37 fps min, at the end, when this snow demon shows up), and using 32 bit exe was ever faster 60-62 fps average (46 fps min, at the end, when this snow demon shows up), so it runs nice :).

But how to turn off that ugly blurines ? Sharpness looks very bad, like ps3 subhd game (1024x500), and I tried various commands like:

    r.PostProcessAAQuality=0,

but still, it looks wayyyy too blury :(, even after changing default resolution to 1080p.

EDIT- ok, I found it, puting sg.resolution quality and "sg.antialiasingquality 0" in console improve sharpness :)

The realtime GI feature was stripped out of the engine and probably won't come back.

Wow this thing looks crazy , i had hard time to believe its real-time rendering (lol)
Its running around 35-40 fps for me , drops at 20 at the end @ 1080p.

Thank you @applejack for those extra demos :D

For me it doesn't remind me of Mirror's Edge at all, more like Remember Me.

I might be wrong here but, DX12 is DX11 just with better code and the XBoner will be DX12.

I don't care either way because DX12 is very very very far away, so far in fact that SWEPVII will be out before it.

In terms of quality right now, I think Frostbite is still number 1, with Cryengine and UE jostling between second and third.

The unproven winner is going to be Snowdrop as it looks as if they have the best lighting, which is all that really matters if truth be told...

Just realized these demo's have native Oculus Rift support, the cave demo is amazing in the rift, particle effects look great!

    I have a 290 and get min of 40FPS @ 1080p.

Having looked at the demos i don't know what the big fuss is.
    Engine already looks dated.

I take some of what i said back. The Realistic lighting demo looks nice.
I was commenting about the Cave demo.

In what way does the engine look dated?

If you type in ToggleDebugCamera in the command line you can move the camera freely. It's kind of fun to check out the environment while the actions of the demo are playing out.

To me it looks like UE4 is all about the lighting. I think the lighting is good - even on the Cave Demo. I think what makes you think it looks rubbish is the seemingly low res textures - I guess this can be easily fixed by using high res textures, so don't know why they didn't do that in these demos.

These demo's only show off certain techs, not really intended for the general gamer but the devs that would be using the engine.
Their pretty demo is the Infiltrator demo.

Ah, I see. Just viewed a video of the Infiltrator Demo - looks great! Tried to find a downloadable executable program of the demo, but couldn't find one. Am I right in thinking it isn't available for download? I wanted to see how it ran on my 670MX, should be able to run it pretty well at 1600x900 given my overclock & given the fact this demo runs at 60fps on a GTX 680 at 1920x1080.

Unfortunately it's not :( I hope they do release it though.
