I prefer to have offset mode because I like to have a low voltage on core in case of low usage of the core.

Nevertheless thanks for forwarding this point to unwinder.

PS: Just for my understanding. With standard AB settings (no third party workaround) the shown offset mode is not working?

Download the updated version I put online tonight (no need for the oem2 patch anymore).

In preferences there are three voltage modes:

    1 - Reference design
    2 - Standard MSI
    3 - Extended MSI

If you leave it at the regular MSI voltage mode you'll get 50 Mv that will remain dynamic in offset as it is using the NV driver API. However if you need more voltage the extended MSI (fixed) mode probably is the only method.

Not 100% sure though, but I recall that this particular PWM could only addressed directly when fixed by bypassing the nvidia driver.

    Hey Guys,

for a short test, I´ve raised voltage to 1294mV and PowerTarget up to 122%
In Idle, AB is showing 1287mV.
Starting Futuremark, voltage drops down to around 1245mV @ 1404MHz Boost Clock. Max. reached PowerTarget is around 105% and 62°C GPU Temp.

Do I need to raise PowerTarget in BIOS to keep voltage stable?
After Christmas I will get a fullcover waterblock.

PS: If this is not the correct thread for this kind of discussion, just let me know and move it.

I noticed the exact same and was hoping there would be some way to get the voltage control back to offset mode instead of fixed mode when using extended MSI voltage control.
I have two 980 Ti Lightnings and some power saving would be nice hehe, so hopefully this can be confirmed in some way.

Firstly, thank you of course for this awesome software. I was wondering if completely disabled powerplay for powerplay7 capable hardware will eventually be supported, as I believe it to be my last recourse for the horrible downclocking I encounter with my 380x in games.

    Afterburner 4.2.0

Thanks for the new version but I need some help.

My problem is that my new r9 390 Nitro causes random system reboots when it is in 2D mode, the only 'easy' way I was able to solve this was to use Gpu Tweak and on the 2D screen change the GPU Clock from 300Mhz to 420Mhz.

The thing is, I don't like Gpu Tweak very much and would prefer to go back using Afterburner.

Can anyone show me an 'easy' way in this version to change the 2D clocks like Gpu tweak?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Hilbert,

I am just now researching and learning about this limitation of extended MSI mode and was wondering if there was any update in this regard? I have to use extended mode to get stability at 1450mhz on my Lightning and it would be nice to benefit from the power savings when idle.

    Thanks!

Forget about it, there won't be any updates for Lightnings in extended mode

Just saw HH preview on YouTube of the new beta Afterburner.

Will this work on Boost 2.0 cards, like e.g a GTX 980Ti?

    Thanks.

New V/F curve functionality is available on Pascal hardware only. It should look/work like it worked previously on older hardware.
