    Where is 3rd party voltage control option or to enable it?

    Unwinder this is a string of my gtx980Ti Classified:

    VEN_10DE&DEV_17C8&SUBSYS_49983842&REV_A1

    Subvendor is EVGA(3842) and controller is same of Lightning, International Rectifier IR3595A.

    In Settings->General tab. Next to "Unlock voltage control" there is a dropdown list allowing you to select "reference design", "standard MSI" or "extended MSI" voltage control modes. Once you add OEM2 file, "third party" mode should become available.

    Better post it in that thread please, all related info is being collected there. I2C scanning dump is also absolutely required to add support for each card.

    You're making a mistake on some step then. Try to verify each step or simply wait for MSI response.

    Can you post any screenshot or a video to show a proper step guide. It will be easy.

    Thanks for the update :)

    Don't think it is anything to worry about, but on first launch, I set up all my settings, and as normal it wanted to restart - on restart I clicked on the system tray icon to open AB, and it opened invisible

    It was there on the screen as holding shift and right clicking the taskbar icon > move put the mouse over AB UI, but it was completely invisible

    Closed it, opened again normally and has worked fine since

    There is proper step up guide on adding third party voltage database file to MSI AB available in this thread. If it is complex for you, just wait for solution from MSI side please.

    For those with a Lightning, I installed the card to check out the issue as reported. I was able to replicate the issue. The proper device ID (for my card) is: VEN_10DE&DEV_17C8&SUBSYS_32501462

    As such the card will only get reference settings with a mere +50 mV voltage allowance over stock, opposed to the beta that opened it up-to 1.30 Volts. MSI mixed up that device ID in the database or simply forgot to update the entry. It is night-time in Taiwan so it might take another day or so to get an updated build out.

    Rest assured, this will be fixed. For those that cannot wait, please use what Unwinder has suggested.

    Code:
    ;OEM

    [VEN_10DE&DEV_17C8&SUBSYS_32501462&REV_??]

    ; MSI GTX980Ti Lightning

    Desc					= MSI GTX980Ti Lightning
    VDDC_Generic_Detection			= 0
    MemoryVoltageBoostMax			= 100
    AuxVoltageBoostMax			= 30
    VDDC_IR3595A_Detection			= 32h
    MVDDC_IR3567B_Detection			= 34h
    MVDDC_IR3567B_Output			= 0
    VDDCI_IR3567B_Detection			= 34h
    VDDCI_IR3567B_Output			= 1
    TMEM_NCT7511Y_Detection			= 2Eh
    TMEM_NCT7511Y_Formula			= TemperatureLocal-3
    TVRM_NCT7511Y_Detection			= 2Eh
    TVRM_NCT7511Y_Formula			= TemperatureRemote2-3
    TPCB_NCT7511Y_Detection			= 2Eh
    TPCB_NCT7511Y_Formula 			= TemperatureRemote1-3
    Just copy the data above in a text editor, save it as the MSIAfterburner.oem2 file in the main afterburner directory located in x:\Program Files (x86)\MSI Afterburner

    After you copied it, startup AB, go to the General TAB and select third party. Close and open up one more time and boom, 1.30 Volts. I verified this to be working on Lighting with DEV_17C8&SUBSYS_32501462, if you have another Lighting with a different device ID, then replace that ID into the above MSIAfterburner.oem2 file.

    Screenshot example here

    Unwider, about my broken system it´s more like broken Afterburner. The problem is the compatibility with eufi bios, just tried the normal bios (non eufi) and the voltage control works.

    Peek into "System requirements & Features" section of documentation supplied with application, pay attention to notes declaring that original VGA BIOS is required for voltage control. Then type in "UEFI voltage Afterburner" in forum search and see how many times the same thing is stated in the forums.
    So I'd say it is more like broken documentation reading skills. Leave it as is and just use a different application please, no need to come back with "thanks for nothing" or "broken AB" again.

    Been using UEFI bios on other cards without any problem whatsoever, the uefi bios that i have is an original AMD BIOS no tampering as been done. I´ve used the forum search with that words and nothing relevant came back. Anyway i dont know how can you be a moderator on a forum with your atittude, i´m gratefull that you created msi afterburner but your Putin like posture since ever is not adequate to be a forum moderator, but it´s only my opinion.

    And as usual with each and every new release of AB there is an "I wanna my voooooltaaaaage" unhappy user starting from "help me to get what I want" and ending with 100% typical "your tool is broken and you are not adequate". My bad, I had to recognize trolling pattern since the very first "thanks for nothing". Bye. Let's end this useless dialog please.
