Don't look at the version numbers as it's been proven (including by me) in the past that driver versions from AMD with the same number are NOT the same. Quite often the file once expanded are slightly different sizes which is an obvious giveaway, but they also may be the same size. If you do a file compare of them though, you will find they are different.

The difference is because the version numbers don't represent the actual build of a file, just a generalisation that the higher the number the later code wise the file is (although sometimes this isn't even the case!).

Same, I don't notice anything different one way or another.

I have my days, like everybody i guess.

I don't play too much games lately but i started playing BO3 and don't like at all the flickering.

Not so broken it scales well here in CFX.

The problems i have with BO3 are related to HEAVY flickering in certain areas and tearing but honestly i guess this last one i could make it better with some work.

I don't live in the past. Do you?

I'm stubborn i must admit, i'm too old to change.

If you remember the GTA V affair lead to the DX11 API Overhead discussion/war, there more stubborn and less refined ppl than me fall from this forum.

    Let us them RIP.

I'm not refined. What can i do?

If you are not reporting my posts i guess it's because there is nothing in them against the forum rules in the first place.

If i'm wrong please send me a PM, i don't like to be disrespectful to rules.

I don't care about potential issues in AMD drivers because there are too much real issues to be solved before.

This is not Chicago, AMD is not the Godfather and there is no mafia wars in here AFIK.

No vendetta from my side, this section of the forum is about AMD drivers and the fact is i'm not one of his workshipers (It has enough) who seems to NEVER have a single problem with drivers and only stubbornly praise AMD in face of reality.

I express my thoughts and sometimes i rant (i must admit) about this incomplete and on purpose (VSR...:bang:) feature mess we are getting from AMD as drivers.

I do it as an AMD GPU customer and share my opinion with other AMD GPU customers.

IDK you but i'm not rich and the 2 AMD GPUs and the custom WBs i have were not gifts.

They must serve me at least one more year until i can afford an upgrade.

I know you will not believe me but i REALLY want AMD improving his drivers and recovering market share.

I think the only way AMD has to recover some market is improving his drivers and working with game devs, with tricks or without.

Their hardware is powerful as a Ferrari but useless with a monkey as driver.

Nvidia monopoly will be the worst scenario for us gamers.

I hope there are enough stubborn ppl around to shake AMD corp heads to wake up and make things happen in dedicated GPU dep before the 18% market share they have make the dep no viable as business.

I want to be able to buy competitive AMD hardware with competitive AMD software in one year.

You are lucky to have a game taste who avoid by coincidence all Brokenworks and AMD not well supported CFX titles.

Could be very possible IDK, at least this lucky coincidence is way better than the "solution" i get the other day in here for the 4K VSR lock (and lack on purpose) in drivers:

    Buy a 4K monitor.

    LOL

    :nerd:

Pls test Fallout 4 godrays performance. Maybe this driver just restricts max.tesselation factor?

I've not encountered any issues with BO3 and a single 290 on 15.11. Capping frames off at 80 and smooth as butter.

Here is the issue yasamoka: go look at the last 5 beta cats and whql drivers. Count how many times they recommend turning off crossfire. Count how many times they fix crossfire. Now realize they no longer release updated crossfire profiles separate. So the only time we get crossfire fixes is once a month, so it is disheartening to see every month the same thing. I.e insert game name here exhibits flickering we recommend turning off crossfire.

Don't take that as me complaining, I'm just explaining the issue.

by the way crossfire works phenomenally well in Black Ops 3. I have a min frame rate of 168 and an average of 181fps with <1ms of deviation in frame times. That's at 1440p.

would you mind telling me where the performance issues start to kick in? I just started playing about an hour yesterday. Im not far and i spent a lot of time searching the cave in the first diner. But the performance was pretty decent so far with textures on ultra and god rays off. And whats that tessellation problem everybody talks about?

Lexington, Diamond city. With these drivers is mostly better, didnt noticed drops below 44fps, everything Ultra/1080p. My CPU and GPU are heavily overclocked and i still feel its limiting.

Dont forget to override tesellation mode in CCC (8X or 16X). It makes game so much smoother and you can run everything maxed with no difference in quality.

Fallout 4 everything maxed on 2560x1600 resolution: No FPS difference compared to previous drivers.

I tested in a situation which had massive FPS drop compared to normal 60fps.

These feel a bit smoother overall. But I'm capped at 60 anyways, so no real difference can be found anyways. Sometimes fps drops to 40 and gpu usage drops under 50%, but we all know what causes that. Everything on ultra, even godrays @ 1080p.
