Okay weird, but yes that is not a typo. the next Call of Duty Installment would be called 'Cold War', this is labeled on the packaging of Doritos. ... Doritos chips packaging confirms next COD will be called Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
The Cold War is a really good choice on so many levels. Looking forward to this; there's a lot of potential with that time setting.
So, basically from the end of WW2 to the early 1990s. If they don't mess it up, they could ride that horse for a long time.
Cold war is one the best looking and least milked periods. I prefer Soviets look'n'feel, but US/NATO had its share of great looking arms and rugged machines too.
I thought black ops was rotated every 3 years? Did one of the studios stop making COD? I actually like BO4 a lot and still play it, that same out 2018.
Definitely; there is so much great mid to late 80s and early 90s weapons tech they can pull from not just with small arms but it was the beginning of what we use today in its initial stages & the mood of the era will help contribute to a good campaign if they choose to pursue something thriller-spy/espionage-related with some action-adventure elements. Submarines, Nuclear arms race, Carrier launched fighter jet aircraft ... a great selection of land-based vehicles. CIA, KGB, the Space program in its later years & the war in Afghanistan.
I agree fully. Also the central and south American settings and Africa, not to mention East Asia or India v. Pakistan.
I couldn't give a toss about the COD but I am kinda shocked that no one finds it odd that the next COD games official title is being confirmed by Doritos??? Not Acti-Bliz or some game jorno but Doritos?
So.... nothing's gonna happen in the game then? it wasn't called the cold war for nothing you know.... Nah all jokes aside, if they base it on real world conflicts that were because of the cold war (known as proxy wars) they have the choice of 3 different wars. The Ogaden War which took place in the 70's, Congo Civil War which took place in the 60's and was basically a race war after congo was given independence back from Belgium. Or the war in Laos that lasted over ten years and was more commonly known as the "secret war" as it wasn't as well televised as the vietnam war was. Or they could just alter history as they do and make up some random bullshit, I expect to see a Putin style enemy with horns, a moustache, and a monocle. I would prefer for them to keep it grounded and less "out there" though. Black Ops 1 was by far one of, if not, my favourite COD game. Everything from the setting, music, and gunplay just felt spot on. But they went and changed history to a point of absurdity. I'm ok with some changes for the sake of the game and for the sake of being respectful considering the source material but sometimes they go too far.
