ethesda has just released a teaser trailer for DOOM. Yeap, you read that right. Here is a teaser trailer for the new DOOM game. According to the publisher, the first reveal of the game will be at Quak... DOOM Teaser Trailer
^ Not much is seen, although the engine looks fantastic, it's a good upgrade from the previous one... It's a shame not much is revealed but we're getting closer to the real deal. Hopefully some screenshots/leaks will shortly appear as did with the previous Doom 3. Looking forward to the release of the game. It looks to be in early production and I anticipate it to be released sometime in 2015.
Brilliant stuff! If this is anything to go by, the new game will have much more atmosphere than the old one.
Expecting disappointment. I hope it will be online only so I can happily avoid it because this is unimpressive.
Are you referring to the leaked alpha build? I just realized how long ago that was. Wasn't it around the time where the NV30 was released? Speaking of old... the original Doom for PC was the game that got me to build my first PC. It came on 3 floppy discs. hehe. That was so long ago that back then you could actually upgrade the amount of RAM on video cards. Ahh... a diamond stealth 64. Then i went big and got 2x Monster Voodoo II's in SLI.
I was referring to Doom 3. Many months before the official release of the game there was a 1.2Gb Alpha Doom 3 leak. It consisted of 2 stages. Although it was beta, it was 100% fully playable. At the time it was leaked all over the internet. I doubt we'll get the same for Doom 4.
I'm happy even if one screenshot would leak, i want to see how it looks. Hopefully way better than wolfenstein.
Im also disapointed already... because it uses the same crap engine that rage and wolfenstein did... and they were horrible tech wise, which this is bound to be aswell.
Not sure if this is ingame. And it doesn't really show much about the game. *edit* Looked at it again in HD, but those smoke effects are way to nice to be ingame. The smoke seems to be very detailed and gets lightning from the environment. Still not expecting much, unless they change the Doom formula allot, as it has always been just a corridor FPS.
Thats CG as are most teasers so its not ingame,as for the formula yes it will be changed, there will be alot more open spaces than corridors this time
c: Lets hope the super script is up to the job. It was Doom3 that turned me into a system builder. Ace a teaser, well excited.
People behind the new Wolfenstein have shown that it's possible to make a great remake of a classic shooter. Perhaps it'll be the case with Doom too?
Good to know I'm not the only one to feel that way. It's one of the most recognizable sound from my early days of playing FPS before I got lost playing Heretic and Hexen.
