Delayed untill 20/03/2020
I have never been so sad in my life, not even through my divorce.
This is what happens when they decide to stop with the "when it's done approach".
Not really surprised by the delay. They were pretty quiet for a while.
It's not like id are known for being really public and talkative about their projects.
Also, they aren't really the type to throw out a release date randomly. They've always been a "it'll be released when it's done" kind of studio.
I think Bethesda wanted DOOM this year, because they have no big releases for the second half of the year.
But, id were probably just like "It's not where we want it. Delay it"
If it leads to a polished, fun product with plenty of singleplayer content, then fine. I'll get Amid Evil instead.
Perhaps they have trouble hiding the ingame store.
It will be a first game that uses Id tech 7 perhaps they need a little more time for optimizations.
Im sure it will be the best looking game to date.
As much as it saddens me to say, it is a possibility.
Probably didn't have enough time to redesign the game to fill it with macro-transactions.
ah .. crap ;/
More time to save up some cash to upgrade my gpu...
It's probably going to run as good as Wolf 2. Turing will run it at 120+ fps easy.
Doubt that. Doom Eternal uses IdTech 7 and features much more detail in the character models, textures and environments compared to anything shown in WtNC.
Doom Eternal will definitely run well though to be sure, thanks to Id's phenomenal Vulkan renderer.
I stand by what I said.
2k 240fps, 4k 120fps, 8k 60fps, ez.
Think you're right !
Game Engines are constantly evolving piece of code, they could call it IdTech Ultra-XX99++ premium for all we know.
If they're still releasing on all consoles (ps4/xbox one/Nintendo Switch/..), they're still bound to the same technical limitations from 2-3 years ago.
Just reminds me when people said DOOM 2016 would be really demanding (judging from trailers)... and the game ran like greased lightning.
Yes, id said it runs on idTech7, which offers up more detail then idTech6... but they also said it offers up more detail while still offering amazing performance.
I trust them to deliver. And see no reason to upgrade.
1000fps are viable!
