Playing Doom?, you will be getting a rather hellish patch today in the form of update 6.66, which fixes a bunch of bugs and other issues. But the big news is that all the multiplayer DLC is now unlock...

35GB update, yes it is rather hellishly large.

btw, the installation size decreases after this patch.
i did not have any DLC installed and my installation size was ~82 GB.
now after this patch, which includes all DLC, my installation is at ~72 GB.

Oh lord nothing has made as happy as this quote right here.

This is also why I do not buy season passes.

I've just updated to the latest patch and my installation size decreased too. Mine went from 76GB down to 67GB, strange that the installation sizes are different between the two of us, but we both saw about a 10GB reduction in disk space used, so that's good.

am i understanding this correctly? they eliminated the season pass and opened all the DLC up for everyone?

If i had of purchased the season pass (like i have considered on numerous occaisions) i would be thoroughly upset about that.

That's what you get for being an early adopter. This kind of thing happens all the time. Now if you bought the season pass within the last month, I would be angry as well. If they knew they were going to do this, they should have stopped selling the season pass a while ago.

yeah i wish theyd isolate & fix the audio bug already. everything still high pitched/sped up unless i lower the sample rate of my sound card.

i see wat youre saying & i fully agree in theory, but in practice...things are slightly more complicated. fact is, i was playing the DLC mp content for a year. i dont regret it. more money to devs who honestly 1000% deserved it, & i dont have to grind out unlocks now.

the MP community is small & i hope this helps to revitalize it. its a good step.

i came here to post this. i however had all DLC installed & my doom folder was 73gb in size. after a 35gb DL, the doom directory is 67gb.

Well my rule of thumb of not touching any game with a season pass until on massive sale continues to pay dividends, i may actually buy this now.

Already have it, but they should have went for a 66.6% sale instead of 50%...

It's not exactly the most intuitive especially if the download is already in progress (Steam setting updates in a queue and you can't outright disable automatic updating.) but you can right click on a game and select "properties" and then pop off all the DLC you don't want to be installed.

It can make quite a difference in some games though others use a lot of shared data so the update could still be a couple of GB even without the specific DLC files being installed. :)

There's also the 'con' I've seen of adding ALL DLC to your steam cart only to find out you've bought the Season Pass + all the DLC the Season Pass contains, so pay twice for the DLC!!

I've noticed that and their Distinct lack of effort to fix the "bug/feature"

Even though a small percentage fall for it, over the millions of players I bet that still amounts to a LOT of money per year.
