During the Nvidia editors event some content was shown, the video above is Â*Doom running the Vulkan API with the all new GeForce GTX 1080. Be warned -the video is a camera phone recording, shaky-cam ...

    Good stuff, thanks :).

I'm not really a fan of DooM genre, but that looked really good.
Hopefully more games will use Vulkan API, so we're not stuck with Windows 10 and Dx12 :).

I did play beta... On 1080p too. Constant 60fps without Vulkan (beta was locked to 60fps). GPU utilization around 20~25% and it did downclock to like 850~950MHz.

This video demonstrates one thing only. And that's Doom having Vulkan implementation.

When you say "1080p too", are you refering to the Vids 1080? Because the vids 1080 is the video card. :D Actually the vid demonstrates 2 things, Vulkan and the Nvidia GTX 1080.

Edit: I don't remembering them saying the game play resolution. I was certainly interested in that info though.

I hope things don't always go that fast. If they do, I'm "Doomed".

It was intentional. Doom is not performance showcase for GTX 980 Ti/Fury X. Even at 4k, it does 60fps and rest is motion blur. So, how can it be showcase for GTX 1080?
Apparently, Vulkan is what? Heavier or Lighter on HW? And in beta, you did not have similar amount of characters on screen? Or did they completely redesign shader model since then (month before launch)?

Not that I had reason to play more than few matches. It was pretty average and boring.
But if I knew about them uncapping, I would have tried to see where does that land me.

The mp was fine, its was fast, hectic, and pretty fun... but that was it. Its a throw away mode to be honest. I think they just tacked it on to add extra content. This game will be all about the single player and of course snapmap which I can not wait to try out my self!! :D

i was not interested in this game but i buy it now to support vulkan , im happy nvidia are behind vulkan i want to stay on windows 7 for as long as possible because windows 10 is just plain trash , i hope amd are dx10 and nvidia push vulcan and then most gams use vulcan which will force microsoft to release a desktop version of win 10 with all the phone and spyware trash removed

I dont know if its heavier or lighter, that remains to be seen. They will release the vulcan patch soon after the game is released they said.
In the beta the settings were brought down and there was indeed less things going on compared to the single player from what you see in that video.
Beta's main purpose was network stress testing.

Any proof for that doom was running here on vulkan? Because nvidia's words, you shouldn't trust them at all. Maybe this joke is boring now but still valid: 970 "4GB" and other case as example, CEO at one presentation was showing fake card and lying straight into faces of millions that thing which is in his hands is a real graphics card which wasn't (i do not remember now which gpu that was).
