I don't think a utility to remove ATI drivers is necessary unless someone has borked their install by manually attempting to delete files.

If the GPU maker can't figure out how to properly uninstall their drivers, I am reluctant to think a third party will do any better.

I have never had an issue with bad uninstalls in the last decade + of using ATI cards.

Tell that to RadeonPro users who thought CCC can't do jack sh!t for profiling their games, and also MSI Afterburner users for OC-ing.

Besides, like onemoar said, this isn't about a 'driver uninstaller'.
I'm pretty sure everyone who uses some sort of driver cleaners did use AMD's own uninstaller first.
What those cleaners do is just sweeping up whatever the uninstaller has left behind, like unused files and registry entries, not uninstalling the entire driver suite.

    It's just you, maybe.

    Not me, definitely.
Aside from SP1 thingy, never had any problems, actually.

Same here. I was only using 2.1 but had no problems installing SP1, but still thought it wise to scan integrity of the file system. No errors but I also upgraded to 2.9.

there is no reason to use such programs unless you are running xp
