    https://www.gadgetany.com/news/nvid...d-to-launch-although-it-is-not-yet-available/

Google Chrome will soon feature innovative new Nvidia technology, and the browser upgrade is available. We’re discussing the RTX Video Super Resolution (VSR) from Nvidia, which is capable of scaling up to 4K.

We regret to inform you that you cannot yet utilize it if you are eager to give it a try.

To test out Nvidia’s RTX VSR, you’ll need Google Chrome’s most recent upgrade, which gets it up to version 110.0.5481.77. The system will allow Chrome and Microsoft Edge to support AI-powered upscaling and is designed to function similarly to Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS). VSR is still new, but it seems quite promising.

Although everything is prepared on Google’s end, we still require Nvidia to publish a driver update that makes the new technology possible. Thankfully, we can almost certainly anticipate it happening shortly.

You do know that Google patches Chrome about once a week or so?
The fact that a feature is present in v110 release says basically nothing about whether it's ready to be used or not.
There are loads of features present in current Chrome release which are still in development.

NV introduced this feature more than a month ago and driver support was supposed to be released concurrently with Chrome 110... but something went wrong I guess

Why don't they introduce G-Sync support for in-browser video playback, like Youtue? There are 24, 25 and 30fps videos (or the integer multiples of those frame-rates). It would be nice to watch 25fps content on 120Hz displays without judder. But web browsers are generally black-lited from G-Sync by driver profiles (probably for a good reason, but full-screen video playback sould be allowed to benefit).

I wouldn't be surprised if microsoft butted in to get more time to port it over from core chrome to edge since it's currently on 109.

Edge is based on Chromium (open-source fork of Chrome without many proprietary features), not a Google's Chrome

Has anyone tried driver 530.04 to see if VSR works?

I'm not sure about support in Edge, but Chrome already implemented it.

We just need a driver and it's been promised to arrive in February. Well... it's 27th

Another indicie that something went wrong

Something will be wrong when no such driver will come. Up until then it's in development.

No need for DLSS in my browser here, already get great speeds.

Pretty sure VSR is working on 531.18 + 110.0.5481.178. Characters look a bit sharper in the video. Also power draw increased to ~80W from ~40W.

    Well...

    RTX 3080 10GB
VSR OFF -> power consumption is cca. 25W
VSR ON Quality option 4 -> Upscaling from 1080p to 1440p it consumed over 160W o_O

Quality enhancement is imperceptible and there is a smearing visible sometimes, especially during scenes changes
    [IMG]

//It also affecting games performance with browser in background

    1080p @60FPS -> 1440p @60FPS => over 250W

    Keeping it disabled
