So I have tried the online suggestion that 50/50 distilled water and white vinegar would make a great LCD cleaner.

After mixing the 2 and used a fiber cloth, it left some really nasty streaks.

Is my fiber cloth bad? Any help how to fix this?

Rubbing alcohol would have been just as effective minus the streaks. Never use anything acidic on a monitor screen. You're just asking for trouble.

I read that I should avoid alcohol on LCD's. Several websites suggested white vinegar and distilled water 50/50 and turned down isopropyl alcohol

Are you saying I should use 70% rubbing alcohol and not white vinegar/distilled water?

Little Water with a towel does a fine job of cleaning a monitor.

Yep, a damp cloth works a treat. No need to mess with anything other than that.

Must depend where you live, hard vs soft water, if I use normal water it leaves the LCD worse than when I started

If I distil water from the same tap and use the same cloth, the LCD is spotless afterwards
