Change log from DDU Version 17.0.7.3

New in Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) 17.0.7.3 (August 30th, 2017)
    • From now (by default) you have to go directly to Safe Mode manually and launch DDU there.
    • This is to prevent problem for users that have a broken Safe Mode and stuck in a loop because of the BCD changes.)
    • Note: The old behavior of being ask to go to Safe Mode automatically can be enabled in the Options.
    • Translation updates : Chinese (Simplified).xml Russian.xml

Yeah that caught me by surprise when I did the clean install for Adrenaline, it's off in the device settings and the policy so by default the OS will not find or check for device drivers but it turns out that if the OS has no driver available it still does a check in the background but disabling net access and cleaning out whatever it downloaded (In my case it was 17.11.x something I think.) is easy enough but I do wish it could be more easily configured.

I don't think disabling the WU service itself is enough since the OS will re-activate the service if it can so net access seems to be the easiest and just turning the adapter off while you're installing and updating the device.
(And then the OS goes crazy for a few minutes because it can't access the net and then it goes crazy again running all kinds of stuff once net access has been restored. :p )

Why is it that when I do the Nvidia clean it says it's removing AMDKMPFD.sys?

It's because this left over can cause issues (at least in the past) with NVIDIA , so I remove it. You dont need an AMD pci lower filter on the PCI driver.

Also, the removal of it is optional. Check the options. If you don't like it, just untick it.

Cool, I was just worried that it thought I had an AMD card.

Why you need to remove it? Any benefits?

It's simply DDU job to remove all left over.
