Display Driver Uninstaller Thread

After uninstall and use DDU, there are still some driver trash files in registry. I scan with Driver Fusion, it finds some extra trash files. I can't delete all of them with that program because it requires premium version.



BTW Kaspersky find malware in latest DDU.

 

Send DDU to kaspersky for analysis its probably a false positive as a scan online via virustotal.com return all clean.

Ill check for theses leftover.
Ill appreciate if you can give me the DDU log and also tell me what is this driver version you were cleaning.

Edit: Is this the Windows 10 driver ?

 

I installed Windows 10 driver mod. But it's not worked in my Windows 7 64bit so i uninstalled it.

You sent me pm but i can't reply it because of i'm new user. So i wrote answer here.

I downloaded your test program. Removed my driver and used test version. Still left many registry values and registry keys..

 

ill probably need a registry export to see the details. if you can email me a link of it it will help.

I think I know why Kaspersky detects this program as a 'virus', it is because the program disables a windows service, which is required to disable automatic driver installation from windows updates if i'm correct. (Correct me if I'm wrong) Also one question, how do I re-enable windows updates?

Edit: Nevermind I found out how.

 

Load DDU and select button 4 , it will set back windows update to default.

 

This may be a bit off topic but, I cannot get the 352.63 nvidia graphics drivers to install on my 2x GTX 780s with Windows 10 10074 TP. Anyone know how to get them to install properly?

program wont install...just uncompresses, then when I run the exe. it uncompresses again and so on

 

Seems like you are reloading the extractor every times. Be sure to run the correct executable.
The application is portable, so there is no installation. It uncompress and then you run the .exe

What does this mean?

 

It means DDU will close program like Msi Afterburner, Evga precision X , etc...
if they are running when DDU run. (could most likely happens if you do not clean in safe mode)

 

To further elaborate on Wagnard's statement, the reasons for killing these processes is to prevent invalid readings and possibly locking the clock at a low speed.

Personally, any time I would use DDU when MSI AB/RTSS was open, it would not only mess up the stats reading, where in-game memory usage would show as some crazy number in the millions. And a lot of the time (much like with a driver crash), it would lock the clock speed to something below the highest, like 405mhz.

So, as such, in killing the processes, it should prevent this.

than what need do with DDU is download the Driver to desktop, than remove old driver with DDU and install the Newer from the desktop yep?
