    Thanks, master :)
I'll try the new version as soon as AMD releases the next beta driver, but I have the feeling that I won't have issues as per usual in my case :p

I don't know if this issue has been talked in this thread, but I recently found that AMD's display uninstall application was messing really bad with my Windows 8.1 account privileges. After using the app, I couldn't uninstall software anymore, neither acces to UAC.

Just in case someone's having these problems and don't know why.

Yeah I did heard and also experienced bad things in the past with AMD own Uninstaller. I don't know for the new one tho. Are you referring to the old or new one?

@wagnard : nice, the latest version warning is a lot better,

and btw i just had a stuck at starting windows after using DDU,

i think you mentioned that you need people that had this to export their reg,

but i didn't remember which reg you want.

Edit : just to clear things up, its not looping, but stuck at starting windows, i think it stuck like for 30 min, and i decide to turn the pc off.

The key I wanted was for the bootloop when trying to go into safemode.

Can you tell me when it froze? after the cleanup or when entering safemode?

Also did your reboot fixed the issue?

    Glad it worked now.

From my point of view, it must be a coincidence as windows usually does not repair by itself .

But let me know if this is something recurrent.

    okay, will let you know.

hopefully this is just a one time thing,

oh just remembered, when i press the power button, its like window responded and shut itself down, so its not a hard off.

so its like stuck at starting window, but window can respond to shut down command from power button.

    just to let you know,

i rarely change driver, and yesterday was kinda a special case,

    i was changing from 13.12 -> 14.4,

because i need the fix that is in 14.4 driver.

so i don't know when i'm gonna use DDU again,

but when the next driver came out, i probably gonna try it out,

lets hope AMD didn't release another 14.6 fiasco.

It sounds great, especially for those noobs who just click on the buttons without reading anything at all.

    DDU v12.9.5.1 a total failure.

I just ran DDU v12.9.5.1 in preparation to install 4.6RC2 and ran into problems. This is the first DDU other than DDU v12.8.2 that I've run. v12.8.2 worked fine previously.

Basically when DDU reboots me out of safe mode and I run the 14.6RC2 install I get the message 'Failed to load detection driver' and the install freezes. I have to use Task Manager to kill the install.

Also looking at Device Manager a lot of devices are missing. I couldn't even connect to the Internet. I think my Network Adapters weren't found.

Here's the two logs from running DDU:

    Log 1:

Try to install the last catalyst you had. Could be related to the new Catalyst 14.6RC2.

Also I see when googling this that this error long existed before I even think of creating DDU, so it will be hard to tell what is the real cause of this. It could be DDU or it could be AMD or something in your system preventing it to install.

But what about the issue of my missing devices in Device Manager? That existed after DDU rebooted me and before I started to install the CATS.

I had a similar problem with missing devices when I first used DDU and reported that here. When I finally tried it again, DDU v12.8.2, it worked flawlessly.

Here's a thought. I don't have System Restore enabled on my system as I make disk images on a regular basis with another product. Could this be the cause of my problems?
