Didn't run into any issues when doing two clean installs: 1) stock to 18.8.2 using the safe mode option 2) 18.8.2 to 18.9.1 using the safe mode option.

When going from my old HD5750 to RX570, using DDU (in safe mode ofc) before installing 18.8.2, many old driver files were left behind. Using DDU after installing 18.8.2 then cleared every last remaining file/entry.

    Hi,

I have audio issue after using ddu. Case is the following:

    1) I have (re)installed windows 10 on my desktop
    2) After first boot it has a default but outdated AMD driver, and it has sound as well.
    3) I cleaned it from the machine with DDU v18 + restart
    4) Installed latest AMD driver + restart (installed all content, not skipped audio part)

And then it has no sound after this process - windows shows there is no audio device connected.
The audio should come trough DP port from monitor (Acer xf270hua).

Also if I open "Bluetooth and other devices", it will show XF270HU as an audio device, but can't do anything with that.

Can you please check if DDU would delete any necessary data for that audio?

    Thanks,
    Otto

Check if the audio device in device manager.
Please also verify if you selected the good audio output by default. Removing and installing drivers change the default sometimes
