After using DDU and installing new drivers to try to fix a missing control panel context menu item issue (which didn't get fixed, I had to manually create one), I am left with this large area on my taskbar which taskbar items can't use. It's to the left of the system tray and takes up, oh, 20 percent of the usable space. To the left of that is a quicklaunch-type toolbar menu which would normally be right next to the tray. CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED AND HOW TO FIX IT? I thought DDU was supposed to be so great but all it seemed to do was add to my problems!

Never had such issue with DDU and I'm using it 10, 20 or even more times per month on all kinds of different PCs, knock on wood.

Everything about Win10 was working fine prior DDU?

Did you tried any of the solutions below:

@Size_Mick Hi, first time I hear about this.
Honestly I think this is something related to your windows. You already had a context menu issue to start with.
Also DDU doesn't do anything in code with the taskbar.
Check if you have the issue in safe mode.

Also just in case, send me your DDU logs at info@wagnardsoft.com and I'll give a look at them

this sounds like the sort of crap that happens when a user force deletes their windows.old folder not realising its got junctions to the current builds files as well.
