Just curious, this seems to be quite a varied community, many gamers, many knowledgeable people, from what I've seen so far. I'm thinking a Discord server would be pretty handy, be it for hooking up in games or just everyday chat and help with issues. But, now that I'm thinking about it, it would probably take away from clicks on the website and forum. Still, who else thinks it would be a good idea?
We're in between smoke signs and Skype, we could use ICQ! (I still remember my number and password...)
unless hilberts position has changed not for this forum anyway https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/guru3d-irc.224171/ https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/do-we-have-an-irc-server-and-channel.283634/ https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/is-there-a-guru3d-irc-channel.85549/ https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/irc.259199/ https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/ircs-chatrooms-avatars.57406/
I have my own discord channel as anyone can. But it is not like people need it. Check gaming part of forums, there may be guys, who spend time on discord and similar.
Discord quietly update their TOS with a clause that says you must forfeit your right to sue them or take part in a class-action lawsuit It may have replaced all of my social media accounts, instant messaging and VOIP, but this is weird. https://www.dailydot.com/debug/discord-terms-of-service/
Hmm, this might be something @Hilbert Hagedoorn can comment on. If not, you can always join us on official PCMR!
