Last week I was apparently able to activate my retail disc Games for Windows LIVE key for DiRT 3 on Steam. It was successful because it took 10-15 seconds and I was told at the end that I owned a product called "D3C 3P". However, the game does not show in my library at all, no matter how many times I close Steam or restart my PC. The game DOES show in my Steam Licenses and Subscriptions though as "Retail".

This morning I tried to re-enter the key in case last time was glitched but I am told that the key is already activated in my account and that I am to click Next to install it. The next screen though only gives me a Finish option.

Why is this game not showing in my Steam library? Has anyone else had this problem?

P.S. I do have the original GFWL shortcut added to my Steam Games library but that would not prevent the Steam version from showing as I added both my Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2 OTR GFWL keys last week as week and they showed twice for both games (the original GFWL version and then not installed Steam version).

I don't think the non-GFWL Steam retail activated (what a mouthful) version is configured properly yet. Has GFWL been removed from normal Steam versions yet? If not, then you'll probably have to wait until then.

GFWL Removal and More of Your Frequently Asked Questions Answered
    Greetings all,

I'm Lee your friendly neighborhood community manager, I will admit to being a total lurker here on the Steam forums and I wanted to thank everybody who regularly helps out the other users with their problems. I figured it's time I was a little more active on here though and I wanted to clear up some of your frequently asked questions.

Whats The Deal With Games For Windows Live?
We are working on removing Games For Windows Live from DiRT 3 and when the work is finished we'll be pushing an update via Steam and you will all be upgraded free of charge. I'm going to be honest with you, I don't know when that work will be complete but I will let you know as soon as I do.

I Have a Boxed Copy of DiRT 3 - What about me?
The current plan is to allow anybody who has a boxed copy of DiRT 3 to redeem their CD key via Steam which will add DiRT 3 to your Steam library - there is a chance the process of how you get your copy might change and we're working with Valve to make sure it's as painless as possible.

Why Can't I Download The DLC?
Because the GFWL market place is currently shut down unfortunately you can't purchase or download the DLC for DiRT 3, we will be making the DLC available on Steam when the Steamworks version of the game is available.

    WTF! My Game Won't Start
Some users do have trouble starting the game, this seems to be an install/GFWL issue. Try downloading and installing the GFWL client manually and it should work fine Link[www.xbox.com]

I Can't Sign in to GFWL
    See this post here

    How Can I Contact You?
You can obviously contact me here on the Steam Forums or on Twitter I'm not going to be much use for technical questions in 140 characters so if you are having problems with the game it would be best to contact custserv@codemasters.com, let them know as much as you can about the problem and your rig set up and they will do their best to help. If you want to keep up with what the DiRT team are currently up to then you can follow DiRT on Twitter and Facebook and the CodiesBlog[blog.codemasters.com]

Can I Re-download content I have already purchased on GFWL?
Turns out you can, 10 cool points each to Axe and Aergistal. Details here

I'm pretty sure that's the major questions that come up answered, I'll keep this first post updated with any others that crop up

    ---Update 13/01/15 ---

Hi all, I know this is taking a long time and I can only apologise for the... Well let's call it what it is, massive delay. I know it seems like I've not been coming by but I can assure you I have and I want to thank you for continuing to put the pressure on us both here and on Twitter to get it sorted.

Now I still don't have a date I'm willing to give you just in case it bumps for some unknown reason but I can tell you it will be very soon and the next time I update the first post in the thread it'll be to tell you it's available.

I can however tell you that we'll be upgrading you all to the Complete Edition free of charge, we'll be adding Steam Trading cards and if you also happen to own a mac we'll be making the mac edition of DiRT 3 available to you as well. If you own a boxed copy dig out your CD key and keep it safe as you'll need that to redeem your Steamworks copy when the update goes live.

Again, apologies about the delay but we're almost there.

My query is why I have the game DiRT 3 showing under my Licenses and Subscriptions as "D3C 3P" but not actually showing in my library to install like other GFWL games I've added. I am not concerned at this point whether it still has GFWL or not, I just want to add it my Steam library as I would any other Steam game.

Anyway, I've contacted Valve support and will wait to see what they have to say about it. My understanding is that you can only add GFWL retail disc keys to Steam once they are supported, e.g. like I also did for my Resident Evil 5 GFWL retail disc key this morning and which I left downloading on Steam when I left for work this morning.

I'm pretty sure the game will appear on your account once they move it to Steamworks.

I would say, just give it time for now.
